Let's see... a call out thread based on what is probably a "work" that makes light of a fact that anyone should be concerned about.

It was George Sr. who was meeting with the Carlyle Group, including Bin Laden's brother, on the morning of 9/11.

That, of course, is what is referred to around here as a "coincidence".

That report contains an error in the same paragraph, the assertion that members of the bin Laden family were flown out of the USA two days after the attacks (it was actually September 20th). If they can't get the day of the flight right, I have little confidence in them getting the day of the meeting right.

Don't hesitate to post your source. There are several reports, some putting the flights as early as the 14th.

Once the flight ban was lifted, two jumbo jets transported the Saudis out of the country. The Boston Globe reported at the time that two flights bound for Saudi Arabia with members of the bin Laden clan on board left Logan on Sept. 18 and 19. Other reports put the departure date at Sept. 14.

The 19 murderers on the planes knew what would happen on 9/11. Do you have evidence connecting George H.W. Bush and Bin Laden's brother to the attacks of 9/11? Does anyone?

The Iron Triangle: Inside the Secret World of the Carlyle Group by Dan Briody. He's the original source for this story.

I don't have a page reference because I borrowed the book from the library, but I remember this quite clearly. The conference was scheduled for the 10th and 11th, and Bush Sr. was in the air returning home when the first plane hit the WTC that morning. I believe he had to be grounded somewhere in the Midwest.

Here's an article from the same author in The Times. It mentions that Bush wasn't at the conference during the attack but doesn't go into detail.
