This guy's a gun influencer running for Congress in Texas. Real winner material. Unfortunately it's a pretty red district and he's favored to win. Pretty pathetic stuff.

The lawsuit, which was filed in federal court in the D.C. Circuit Monday morning, alleges the grant system, administered by FEMA, is a violation of separation of powers as well as the authority of states to administer elections enshrined in the Constitution.
“FEMA has no authority to impose those conditions — not under its governing statute and not under the Constitution,” the suit argues. “Congress authorized FEMA to help jurisdictions protect critical infrastructure from terrorist and cyberattacks. It did not authorize FEMA to decide who may vote, how ballots must be counted, or how states maintain their voter rolls"

The odds change is likely because Nixon doesn't have much of a war chest. She wasn't even able to afford TV ads. But she won because she isn't an out-of-state mercenary trying to buy an elected position, unlike Vindman. In Vindman had won he might have had a slightly better chance because he has money to spend, but it wasn't much more of a chance. Nixon's lower odds probably have little to do with being a socialist.

In a special election, Democrat Brandon Dukes has a small lead over Republican Timko for the local district seat. There may be a recount but it may not be worth it as the pair will meet again for the standard election in November.
