russia secretly funded a network of right wing youtube influencers, tim pool and dave rubin, paying them millions to produce content they asked for. also seems there's private communications between them acknowledging this

The US places sanctions on a bunch of RT actors, to which the Russian ministry of Foreign Affairs responds with:

“When the authorities resort to such primitive ways of influencing their voters, this is the decline of ‘liberal democracies’,”

Along with an even more hilarious claim that Russia's response to this will 'make everyone shudder'.

Well....don't blame them for everything...some of your fellow American "patriots" had a hand in it too...lots of hands.

i agree. for example, peter thiel is doing this exact same thing.

the entire influencer job is basically get popular, then take money to promote brands. well, what if the brand is a foreign government, or billionaire, trying to influence politics? it's a real problem imo

i always do find this interesting. they're taking in a fortune from a foreign source to promote their agenda without asking too many questions. you want to be able to do it, because it's so lucrative, and don't want anyone to know, and you don't want to get banned and lose your revenue stream. so, any heat that comes their way and they're infringing on free speech. they're real pro free speech these days, which is fine except most of the time it turns out they just want to lie and deceive, and continue to get paid for it, and call that protected speech.

like i said it's a real problem, unless you think that sort of thing is healthy for society.

I have to take courses about ethics, sanctions, and bribery twice a year for my job and I never speak to anyone outside the company in an official capacity. I'd locve to see some of these chuckleheads go through the same training, just to see their befuddlement

Is he the one that is claiming that THEY were the true victims? I read that and laughed so hard. It's the equivalent of Russia saying Ukraine was harassing peaceful citizens with their invasion of Russia. The irony makes me want to spontaneously combust.
