Well.. the exception is the USA. For some reason, democrats always are blamed for a bad economy, no matter how the economy is doing. In fact, the economy fares better under Democratic administrations and policies.
 
Harris today outlined a program to hugely increase the Benefits people get from the Federal Government. She did not say how these were to be paid for.
It's almost nice to see some politics as usual.

Well, she kinda did - taking away tax incentives is as good as taxing, and the money itself will be spent, creating taxes on its own. If you give money to poorer people, they spend it.

It does make me laugh how that's the immediate question some people ask - as every Republican will be right now: How is she going to pay for it? New taxes OMG!!11!!

America has survived for decades on trillions of dollars of other people's money. USA's national debt right now is $31,164,192,000,000.

Check it when you read this post and see how much it's gone up.

Kamala's promises are a pittance.

Most people don't follow politics.

66% of the voting-eligible population in the US voted in 2020.

Sure, those people voted, but most don't follow the day-to-day in-and-outs of politics like we do, so when a lie travels half-way round the world, they're much more likely to believe it than look into the truth that comes out later.

They, or their parents, picked their political party, and they stick with it each election, much like people stick with the religion they were brought up with.

She did say how they'd be paid for but didn't get into the specifics. It just wasn't reported anywhere.

What makes it worse is that he was talking about giving the Medal of Freedom to the widow of some stupid, treasonous **** who gave Trump a bunch of money. All the widow did to get the award was get banged by Trump mega donor.
 
In a bit of nice timing to back up Harris and the Democrats' willingness to actually do those things that help people, unlike Republicans -

Dunno if this is OT, but I just cruised through a FacePlant thread devoted to blue voters living in red regions. Scroll after scroll, I read scared exclamations by people who mostly said that they didn't feel safe -- safe from vandalism, theft, even assault -- displaying the merest yard sign or sticker supporting Dems.

Granted, most of these people are living in the rural south, where hatefulness is a god-gifted right. But how justified are their fears in fact? Is anybody taking notice of this? Is it as real a threat as it sounds?
 
Maybe if somebody asked people in red regions what they'd do if they saw a Dem lawn sign or bumper sticker? If you could (somehow; it isn't that easy) guarantee their anonymity, how aggressive would the responses be?

Here in blue 'Troit, there's a guy a block over who's put up a big, loud Trumpty sign. I'm certain to the point of betting on it that his car won't be keyed, his windows broken, or his dog shot, all things that those YT posters said they feared.

He also put out a strange little cardboard photo cutout of a Trumphy bust, full color,, open mouth, about a foot high.
Cutest thing, you could paste it on a dartboard. It might tempt somebody with a taste for the bizarre.
Not me, no, cuz I don't own darts.
