NORTH CAROLINA: To make sure your Ballot COUNTS, sign & send it in EARLY. When Polls open, go to your Polling Place to see if it was COUNTED. IF NOT, VOTE! Your signed Ballot will not count because your vote has been posted. Don’t let them illegally take your vote away from you!

One of the basic strategies to deal with stuttering is to pause before speaking and think through what you're going to say. But that can look like ignorance or confusion. Biden doesn't seem to have any trouble having conversations with people face-to-face. That's a different environment from standing at a podium giving a speech.

Stress and being nervous also make stuttering worse. Biden is probably more relaxed when he's talking one-on-one rather than giving a speech from a podium. Most people are.

The "parasites" ad against Graham isn't good. For one thing, a lot of what it shows aren't parasites; they're decomposers.
It's not a documentary.

But also, for a lot of its running time, it isn't clear which person it's calling a parasite. It's making almost equal cases for both.
I'm not sure that's a bad thing.

I think Biden has charisma. Almost all politicians do, to some extent. He was cuter back in the day, but then, weren't we all? He has empathy, which may turn out to be the new charisma.

Something I just read in Politico caught my eye: The writer thinks Biden needs to admit he still struggles with stuttering. I would not have put that high on the list but it was a fairly cogent argument.

I Observed Joe Biden at Close Range for 20 Years. Here’s How He Wins—and Loses

It's dated, and I don't usually pay much attention to opinions on Politico, just putting it out there since I alluded to it. Among other things he urges Biden to select Mitt Romney as secretary of state.

I thought he did that pretty well with the whole story about the boy he met during the primaries who stuttered.

Ya know, you could just track your ballot on line. North Carolina has a tracking portal for your ballot.

California does too.

For some reason I was switched to vote by mail only but I was given notice of how to track it.

Every state has their own system, most have been 'absentee' + polling day of, but some have early voting or all 'mail' voting.

The only rule is that no vote can be cast after the polls close. (counted, sure...but not cast)

Florida never seems to stop being the most important state to win.

They have to be super aggressive. I know there's a sizeable population of Cubans who hate socialism and like Trump.

They obviously ignore the Trump-Putin connection.
For any Reagan Republican, Trump should look like a Commie Defector.

Why? Putin's Russia isn't Communist.

You would think that any sane person would be upset about the meddling in the elections and Putin's authoritarianism. But they seem to like that.

Castro authoritarianism = bad

Putin authoritarianism = bad

Kim Jong Un authoritarianism = bad

Trump authoritarianism = good

A lot of Venezuelans who fled here are now citizens and voting in Florida. There's much the same dynamic going on with that demographic as with the Cuban Americans.

Everyone in the country needs to watch this. I agree with Fareed and find no fault with the modeling he talks about on election night. I also agree that John Roberts is likely going to decide the fate of our democracy. Trump will try to stop the counting. That's different than the Florida case in 2000 where he was stopping the recounting. Trump will try to stop people who lawfully voted from having their votes counted. I frankly don't see Roberts going for that.

When Fareed talks about the media, I think he fails to mention one important outlet. The media needs to educate the public and get us used to the idea of an election week or month. The most important outlet to do that will be Fox.

The question that our transition may depend on is, "What will Fox do?" If the News Division is in charge, I think we'll be mostly okay. If the pundits are all over the coverage, we may be ******.

I agree that Roberts in anyway stopping absentee voting counting is highly unlikely. Dude's old school conservative so at least he as some honor and standards as much as I disagree with most of his actual opinions.

But Trump doesn't need to win the election. He needs to plant the seed that the election results are "controversial" or "contested" or "opinions differ" or some other similar post-fact tactic.

Again it doesn't matter if Trump "technically" wins the election if he can convinces a tipping point of his followers that that he is some version of the "Rightful" winner.

Trump wins the moment the seed of doubt is planted.

That's very short-sighted. The SCOTUS only got involved in 2000 because Bush appealed a FL SC decision to recount the Palm Beach votes (chads).

Trump can't just appeal the absentee votes. He'd have to appeal on a state by state basis and each state would have to have it go through their state supreme courts before Trump could appeal to the SCOTUS.

2000 was unique, so sayeth Scalia when he ruled the ruling which elected Bush couldn't stand as a stare decisis.

Of course something new can still come up given this cluster ****.

Of all the things i REALLY want to know about the Trump Years, the circumstances of Judge Kenedy's retirement are at the top of my list.

After watching Fareed's show yesterday, I expect Trump to declare himself the winner on election night based on early returns that almost always favor Republicans. A few days later, that will change and it will be clear Trump lost. Chris Wallace and John Roberts (Fox White House correspondent) better come heavy on election night at Fox. They might be the only two left at Fox who can tamp this down.

The thought was on his mind because he takes uppers & downers every single day himself. He's occasionally had a few public appearances on downer-time. It was a strange sight to behold.
