Doesn't count when progressives are involved.

Uh huh. Right. Care to actually back that cheap shot up? Because what I keep seeing is "moderates" putting forth a whole lot of half-truths, highly questionable assumptions, complaints that their opinion isn't being treated like it is fact, and obvious fallacies, then getting pissy when called out on them and resorting to empty attempts at cheap shots like that found in your post.

Just keep up this "We Don"t Need No Stinking Moderates and Centrist" crap and you will hand Trump a second term on a silver platter.
And the real myth is the "Lost Tribe Myth" in which you seem to firmly believe.

Just keep up this bullcrap about how your opinion is the only thing that matters and anyone who disagrees with your opinion, however fact-based the disagreement is, is trying to kick you out and you'll continue to give reason for there to be a split as YOU refuse to even consider the concept of compromise, while trying to push the blame onto others.

This post isn't for me.

This post isn't for me.

Possibly. You likely have noticed that I'm currently rather annoyed at "moderates" (and right-wingers, really) using really dumb and half-assed arguments to sling mud, and doing so over and over, even after being refuted repeatedly. If I was, in fact, mistaken in my interpretation of what you said, I apologize.

This election cycle is reaching almost the 1968 level of outrage. Back then the issue was Vietnam war. Now the people want healthcare. Biden is pushing improved Obamacare. You end up paying 500 a month and insurance keeps their role. People will pay a 6000 a year deductible in most cases for any major event. Or you get "socialism."

There I can disagree with you. I think that relying solely on anti-Trump sentiment turning out all the base voters to usher in the most inoffensive, milquetoast candidate they can anoint would be a stupid gamble. It's already failed once with Clinton, and Biden would be no different. If your answer to regretful independent voters is "we're going to take your vote for granted and run a geriatric white guy of our own whom no one wants, what else are you gonna do, vote for Trump, ya saps," you're going to lose.

Look. You've had half a dozen posts by now to correct me and say that you genuinely want Biden, qua Biden, in office. You haven't done so. You, the person here who is arguing for Biden, will be holding your nose to vote for him. That is a bad idea. It will continue to be a bad idea, because candidates whom everyone has to hold their nose to vote for don't get elected.
I could live with a Biden presidency. Or with the presidency of virtually any of the Democratic candidates. My personal favorite is Warren. All moot if the candidate we eventually run can't unseat Trump.

I don't think Biden himself even wants to be president. I think he is doing this in the interest of the Party. He has no real agenda of his own- and would be a "rubber stamp" for whatever the Dems can get through congress. I thought a Biden-Warren ticket would the most likely way to get Warren to the White House. Until recently. If Biden continues to present as too old to carry the election (not too old to serve, mind you- his appeal is his electability)
I will shift to Warren, and hope she can find a way to carry the problem States.

Healthcare is a likely win for the Dems.
I think the Trojan horse for us will be Reparations. It will get quietly past the primaries, then be exploited by the other side in the general.

I'm sure some of them do, but I'm also sure a lot of them don't.

There are several members of this forum who voted for Trump, or voted 3rd party, or just didn't vote for POTUS, but I haven't seen any of them say they regret it or that they're planning to vote differently this time around because of how bad Trump is.
That demonstrates my point.
The ones who voted for Trump would vote for the Republican no matter what, but what we need is for the ones who did not vote for POTUS, and those that voted for third parties to do that again.

A sufficiently Left candidate will make them shift from third-party, or blank-box, voting to casting a vote against the Liberal.

Riiight, Biden has only wanted to be POTUS for a couple decades now he doesn't?

I think even he recognizes that he is not up to the task. I don't believe this run was his idea.

I always wanted to be an Astronaut. But at this point I recognize that the job would be too rigorous for me. If some extremely bazaar twist of events led NASA to come to me because they find my skills as a home improvement salesperson indispensable for stopping a comet from smacking into the Earth, well....that's a different story.

Not a convincing argument or analogy. Sorry.

Watching the NH State Convention. Didn't watch all of it.

Bernie was his usual self. He really is saying we should be a socialist country.

Steyer was on. I still like this guy. He gave a pep talk and noted how extensive his organization has become. He called Trump a criminal many times. Trump is.

Warren is on. She's got it, found the framing. Free education [and all the other things] can be done for 2 cents per taxpayer. That's the key to campaigning on all this free stuff, point to the cost and make sure that cost is mere pennies. She definitely has the biggest crowd response.

Right now pretty much all political commentary is in a state of quantum flux until we learn if 2016 was a fluke or a harbinger of things to come.

I think it's 2 cents per taxpayer dollar, but I agree that Warren is good at framing issues. So is Buttigieg.

The way I see it, every election is a fluke. Public sentiment, political platforms, the economy, the culture war, the perception of the candidates, etc... The intersection of these factors is unique every time.
