2018 mid-term election

What percentage is the trigger? There are a lot of red districts around Green Bay that are uncounted. Walker will likely win the popular vote on the basis of those three or four counties.

<1% is the point where a candidate can request a recount.

As for the election itself, it's worth noting that even though Milwaukee county is listed as 100% reporting that doesn't include the ~50,000 absentee ballots that won't be counted for another 30 minutes or so.

Yes, Calumet and Manitowoc are not fully counted and are solid Walker. However, LaCrosse and Portage are also not fully counted and are leaning toward Evers. One local pundit said that a <1% difference is the trigger, but I cannot confirm that.

Well, it gets extra interesting. Apparently the poll captains (or whatever they're called) up in cheesehead country were holding back the Dem districts/precincts. Most of the area is now counted and Walker has no where near the plurality he had when the percentages were under 50%.

I think it'll be a long night. If the write-in/early voting in Milwaukee holds to the pattern currently showing in the county, then Evers wins.

I think there were about 30K "misplaced votes" that won it for Walker the last time. I won't be surprised if he cheats to win again.

Considering Republicans are immoral monsters I'm shocked we haven't had anyone shooting up a Democratic headquarters yet as they lose control.

Florida is going to be very different going forward with 1.5 million new voters.

The UK has the Behavioural Insights Team, also called the Nudge Unit, which helps people do act in better ways by making it easy do the right thing instead of sticking to the old and bad.

If this election has shown anything, it is that such a program would be an utter waste in the US: too many voters will do the opposite of what's obviously right, just on principle.

It appears Nunes is out of a job of chief conspiracist and head of the Intelligence Committee.

No question his lies and fraudulent behavior will come under close scrutiny.
Luckily for Trump, he never did anything but bring some Donuts to the Campaign and later to the Intelligence Committee.

"There’s only been 5 times in the last 105 years that an incumbent President has won seats in the Senate in the off year election. Mr. Trump has magic about him. This guy has magic coming out of his ears. He is an astonishing vote getter & campaigner. The Republicans are.........

....unbelievably lucky to have him and I’m just awed at how well they’ve done. It’s all the Trump magic - Trump is the magic man. Incredible, he’s got the entire media against him, attacking him every day, and he pulls out these enormous wins.” Ben Stein, “The Capitalist Code”

@DavidAsmanfox “How do the Democrats respond to this? Think of how his position with Republicans improves-all the candidates who won tonight. They realize how important he is because of what he did in campaigning for them. They owe him their political career.” Thanks, I agree!"

Indeed. I was worried that I'd wake up this morning and nothing'd changed. Still, it's unfortunate that the Senate didn't flip, too.

Well, only 35 of the 100 seats were up for election, and the way the GOP has gerrymandered the seat boundaries meant that it would have taken a huge swing just to flip the two necessary seats.

Finding reasons to celebrate Texas sharpshooter style. Someone in the research team came through with the goods.
