2012 Debates

In other words; the clothes have no emperor.

He not only repeats the "teleprompter" idiocy, his "citation" for the claim that Obama's "reliance on the teleprompter has no recent presidential parallel" goes to a random blogger who spends most of his blog talking about roleplaying games and who is himself just talking about a Breitbart article?

Does Hanson actually expect anyone to take him seriously? Do you expect us to take that seriously?

As an Obama supporter ANT, do you feel played for a sucker after seeing him humiliated on prime time TV?

To drive that message home...

Remember, Romney has lost nearly every election cycle as the polls demonstrate.

About the only thing that night Romney didn't lie about or change his position on was Obama's anniversary. After that it was like Romney Live at the Denver Improv.

It looks as if the post-debate bump that Romney got is now starting to settle down. He's in a better position than he was, but given where he was that isn't a big improvement in the long run. In addition, probably partly because of Friday's jobs report, it looks as if in many most recent (read: Sunday) polls President Obama is recovering. Nate Silver breaks it down here and here.

Meanwhile, over at the markets...

IEM
Obama 70.1%
Romney 30.4%

Intrade
Obama 64.9%
Romney 35.1%

I loved Obama's closing statement. "Everyone's getting their fair share, um I mean everyone is getting their fair rules, I mean...playing by their same share uh, playing by the same rules."

Inspiring stuff from the greatest orator since Cicero.

Is it even possible for you to address questions? You post as if you don't care what the truth is or care that your posts are so absurd as to not be taken seriously. Hell, Romney is on target to break all of George W. Bush's records for saying stupid and idiotic things and it's arguable that no presidential candidate in recent history has dissembled more than Romney, that includes Clinton's "no sex with that woman" and others?

What is the point of your posts if they are easily shown silly?

I think Firestein is dead on.

See my sig.

Part of me thinks that Virus and those like him/her don't really even read other people's posts that much. I think they are just mostly talking to themselves here, convincing themselves that Romney's debate performance dealt the decisive, crushing blow to President Obama and that the GOP will win the election in a walk. There is also an element of psychological warfare at play here, as well, because if Democrats/liberals buy into the "Obama is losing" meme then it will become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Of course, the facts and the data tell a different story. Let Virus and his/her ilk have their fantasies. We'll see how that works out for them in a month.

Very astute. Agreed.

I think Virus is a good representative of those who live in the Republican echo chamber. They have no interest in interacting with those who disagree. They are right, because everywhere they "live" everyone agrees.

Which is why I like coming to this forum. I can't stomach many conservative venues/sources. I try to keep up with William Sapphire, Bill Kristol and others but just reading opposing points of view or watching talking heads is not enough. I gave up my belief in god and dualism (and other things) by hammering things out, testing my arguments, etc., it is a good way to gauge just how much I'm drinking the kool-aid, and make no mistake about it, we all do to some extent. But it only works if you engage with people. Argue, discuss and take on and consider other points of view.

That's funny considering the forum is overwhelmingly dominated by the left.

Point a finger and there's three pointing back at you.
