2012 Debates

I've never seen such hype about a debate in all my years. Both CNN and MSNBC (I couldn't bear to surf Fox yet) have had pre-debate nonsense on ALL DAY LONG. It's insane. I'm going out. I'll watch the reruns.

They hype leading up to this thing was the primary reason why I've completely tuned it out.

Mrs. Maximus is watching the debate. I'm in my office, door closed, getting ready to read some philosophy and listening to Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Some uncharacteristic hesitations and stuttering from Obama.

I think he just has a lot he wants to say; I'm starting to think that he is not desperate..perhaps constrained looking is a better descriptor?

Romney just looks so.... eager? Doing pretty well but needs to stop cutting off Lehrer.

Looking too eager, which will come across as deperate, especially if he continues to be rude to Lehrer.

Hmm...to me so far Obama seems more desperate and faltering than does Romney.

I don't know, "more desperate"... not sure about that. Obama isn't a debate king, it's not his best political quality so I think he is just uncomfortable really. It's not his thing.

But Romney doesn't really look all that comfortable either..... he is an odd dude all in all if you ask me. He has that little rich boy who knows he is trying to pull the wool look to me.

They both look equally desperate IMHO.

Maybe he's just anxious to get the debate over, so he can get on to the anniversary nookie.

:D

So far Romney is doing well. If the tone continues, new polls will show him ahead after this debate.

Look at the debate squiggleys down at the bottom it's clear Obama is winning and that he resonates more with woman voters. ;)

Love Stevie! Good pick there.....

It is interesting to see each candidate get stronger and weaker throughout each question and answer session.

You can see on what subjects they were really prepped for....

Yes, but not just tax cuts...

Lehrer should ask Romney about this, because Romney keeps saying that his tax cuts will result in more jobs and more revenue.

Only part of the reality is being expressed by Romney.
