Oh god... LOL!!! I heard that phrase so many times between July and September :D

I am curious, as to what work a student performed on the original drawings?
Probably as an assistant at most with no large decision-making role in the whole thing. Not sure what conventions they used at that time, but graduates entering the work force today are required to do internship hours before they can be eligible to take the licensing exams.
