this spring, i took ornithology at my college. our text was Sibley's Guide to Bird Life and Behavior.
i found it interesting that there were eleven references to evolution on the first page: adaptations, evolved, adapted, evolution, adaptation, evolutionary, evolve, adaptations, adaptations, adaptations, and evolved.
and, of course, some sort of evolution fits in nicely with a progressive/alternative (christian) origin of life.
