As the 10th anniversary will soon be upon us I thought it might be useful to have a thread where we could note down any new documentaries/ TV shows which might be coming up (or any re-runs which people might find interesting, I guess).

For anyone in the UK, the BBC have done a new "Conspiracy Files" show, "9/11 - Ten Years On". They're talking to various people about everything from the events of the day to assorted truther claims, so it should be interesting. We've not long to wait, anyway, because it's being broadcast next Monday, that's the 29th of August at 9pm. More on the BBC site.

Also: I've just seen a short trailer for a new National Geographic documentary, "Seconds from Disaster". It was very short so I'm not completely sure about the structure, but I think it's going to focus very much on the timeline of the day, with interviews from those most involved (Ben Sliney popped up one the piece I saw).

I didn't see when this was first showing, but looking on the web it seems to be September 5th. More here.

Anything else? If you spot something which looks worth seeing, let everyone know about it here.

I wouldn't expect to see any new earth shattering information on an event that happened a decade earlier. There will probably be some previously never before told on TV individual stories about the day (where they were, how they got out and so on) along with the possibility of personal video footage that people hadn't released previously.

The BBC one that got Charlie Veitch to realize his mistakes might be worth watching if I can find it online.

The one that NoahFence mentioned looks kind of interesting in a structural and architectural nerd sort of way.

The Learning Channel (TLC) cable channel is airing documentary on Sept 4 featuring
Frank De Martini and Pablo Ortiz, WTC construction manager and construction inspector,
respectively. Both died in North Tower, but not before had rescued 77 people trapped
by jammed doors and lead them to safety.

Titled "911: Heroes of the 88th Floor" airs Sunday Sept 4 9PM Eastern time

De Martini is a truther favorite for appearing in a video about WTC proclaiming building
could withstand multiple hits by aircraft.

Most dont know or care about rest of story where he and Ortiz (along with several
other Port Authority engineers ) remained behind to search for people trapped and
assist Police/fire departments.

"9/11: The Day That Changed the World"

This is from UK-based documentary-makers:

[...] this film goes behind the scenes to show, minute by minute, how the men and women at the heart of American power struggled to manage the assault on their nation.

Together with the record of events filmed on that day The Day That Changed The World is the inside story of what happened on one extraordinary day ten years ago.

Told entirely through archive and interview, it goes behind the scenes and shows how the events unfurled in the aircraft, the offices, the bunkers and the military headquarters as the President, advisors, security services and the military tried to piece together what was happening, who was attacking the country and what was going to happen next.

Screens on ITV1 in the UK on 1 September and on SBS in Australia on 6 September.

On 11 September SBS are screening "Engineering Ground Zero" (about the reconstruction) and "Man on a Wire" (about Philippe Petit's 1974 high wire jaunt between the towers).

For the people outside the US, the first three parts of Rising (the Discovery channel show) are out on the torrent sites already. Each part is ~56 minutes long.

Discovery Channel's "Rising, Rebuilding at Ground Zero" has been fantastic so far. Highly recommended.

I was interviewed for this documentary, it is on BBC2, not shown in the US as of yet, not really sure how much I'll show up in it, but Mike Rudin asked about 25 questions for the interview, its only an hour show I beleive, so I figure three or four will probably make it in. I was contacted by National Geogrphic, and another group based in London, but they fell through. I was also interviewed by a German Radio station as well. I am supposed to be able to download that interview for about a week in September. Nothing earth shattering pretty much what I have said all along. I heard the Rising was really good, I am looking forward to seeing the whole piece, I missed it the other night.

Unfortunately due to cultural differences, in UK the programmes will be shown in November

A decade after the attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania, the Conspiracy Files looks at why some people still question what really happened on 9/11. Conspiracy theories continue to evolve and now question every aspect of the official account. Why, they ask, was the hole in the Pentagon so small? Why did the World Trade Centre buildings collapse as if being demolished by explosives? Why did one skyscraper fall when it was never hit by a plane? And why was the world's greatest military power so unprepared and so slow to react when warnings had been received?

It's like seeing years of JREF threads in one neat package.

Rising: Rebuilding Ground Zero / Discovery Channel Inspiring Stuff a Must See

I watched the multi-part documentary on the Discovery channel called Rising: Rebuilding Ground Zero. Produced by Steven Spielberg, it is a truly a top notch effort in cinematography documentary making. There are multiple documentaries airing this week and for the next month about various rebuilding projects around ground zero. It’s airing on National Geo as well I believe. It's pretty fascinating stuff listening to the men and women who are involved with the rebuilding of Tower One, the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, and more. The stories of the iron workers, the architects, the cement foremen, etc was truly inspiring. The 9/11 Memorial with the waterfalls in the foot prints of the original towers look incredibly beautiful and honors those fallen with the respect they deserve. I look forward to someday going and seeing it myself.

Now I know a lot of you enjoy debating these people who are 9/11 Inside jobby jobbers, but you should really take a break from this "entertainment" for a moment and do yourself a favor and watch these documentaries. I didn’t once think about "9/11 Inside Job" while I was watching, I was too busy being inspired by the human and American spirit to give them any mind. I haven't been on JREF to either post or lurk for a while and it's true what they say. If you don't go looking for anything to do with "9/11 was an Inside Job", you wouldn't even know there is a movement that exists. So in that case, they are non-issue in the real world, only if you look for it on the internet and invite yourself into their world. So don't take them too seriously in your debates, because they are really not worth getting upset over because they have absolutely no influence on rational people. Keep in mind when they do come in contact with most people who aren't aware they exist, most look at them and think what Kyle Brofloski said better than me, "They're retarded".

God Bless America.

Not to rain on your thread or anything but this post is probably more appropriate here instead.

Discovery starts a 6-hour series on the rebuilding of the site tonight, through next Thursday.

Watched the first 1.5hours. Its excellent. Its mostly about the new WTC1 tower and how its construction is much more resistant to attack than the old one. Their are interviews with the structural engineer for the original towers and hi def pictures of ground zero that make it quite clear the twoofer claims about the debris pile are utterly insane.
Interviews with the father of one of the fireman (an ex fire fighter himself) who spent months at the clean up looking for his sons remains (they were found).
The idea that he would lie about what they found is obscene and that they could be part of the coverup even more so.

I will be proud to visit the new WTC1 and ground Zero when its finished.

I watched that first hour myself.... not giving anybody any ideas of course, but you could practically set off a nuke inside that thing and it'll still stand. Amazing.
