After reading about the atrocities committed against poor African workers and other Gadaffi supporters including Gadaffi himself I wonder if the free world should have helped them. What I hear and see about them is pretty barbaric. http://wsws.org/articles/2011/mar2011/rebe-m31.shtml

It seems the idea is to cut off all electricity, food, water, medicine, anything to live, and simply demand eveyone come out if they want to live...
Some massacres in the Abu Salim area of Tripoli get running in-depth coverage of pretty much nothing. Consider the reported discovery of a the mass grave of 1,270 victims of the prison massacre from 1996. The actual evidence this ever happened is less than conclusive, but either way the evidence...
Ah well, so now it seems (note the caution there) that our own intelligence agencies might have been a bit too paly with ol' murdered Gaddaffi:

It appears that the rebels are now in the heart of Tripoli and the public is celebrating. Is there any word on the fate of Qhadafi?
I shall turn on Al-Jazeera and post important updates as they come in.

Libya is a dark and brutal place which has been run by a filthy little fascist for the last 40 years. That's longer than I've been alive.
When NATO intervened to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe it was obvious that morally cretinous ideologues would be lining up to run interference for...

..GENEVA - Snipers are targeting children in the besieged rebel-held Libyan city of Misrata, the U.N.' s children agency said Friday.
Hundreds of residents have been killed and wounded in the assault by Gadhafi's forces on Libya's third-largest city, and residents are running short of water...
Despite all the initial western enthusiasm that the colonel would be quickly overthrone, it's looking like he may simply ride out the airstrikes and the rag tag opposition.....
So will he still be in power in six months?
If yes are we to expect persistent sanctions or will we decide to mend...
Getting the UN Resolution to support military action in Libya was almost a miracle (thank you Ghaddafi for pissing off everyone, including your neighbors), but the Resolution was just short of allowing assasination of the root of the problem, only supporting defense of civilians. Given this fact...

if NATO is 100% certain of Qhaddafi's location, should NATO accidentaly fire a cruise missile at that building, tent, or bunker?
I'm really not sure myself. I prefer he be arrested for war-crimes trials.
Why is the UN Taking Sides in Libya? From what I have seen the UN is being very anti-Khadaffi. Why is this? Shouldn't they stay neutral in this conflict?
The Ukaranian "Blond Bombshell" has gone back to the Ukraine. When your Mistress,uh, excuse me Nurse, bails on you things are getting bad.

The UN is finished as a moral source (as if it ever was).

From this moment on, I will ignore all UN...
That Gadaffi's time is limited, the only question will be, What wil be his fate?
Damn, forgot to add one.
Killed by a "trusted" advisor or relative, ala many kings of the past.
I am very concerned about the idea of Qhaddafi falling. He seems to be the very fragile glue that holds that country together.
There appears to be no leadership to this uprising, which means no leadership when it eventually succeeds.
So what is gonna happen? Will the nation split up? Is...

I just found this curious, not sure why. I could click and see, but decided instead to just ask what everyone else has to say. I presume these are ranked in order of poularity, so why are so many people googling Gadaffi bodyguards? Are they? Is it some majorly popular punk band in Australia...
I'm starting a new thread because this question has come up very seriously in the MST-13 thread, but it's really quite a separate issue and the two are difficult to discuss in parallel.
I'm copying Longtabber PE's most recent posts below, to kick off.
