Seems like that incompetent, stoic, one-eyed Scottish dunce wasn't all that bad after all:

Of course the woman in question was blaming the economic problems on Eastern Europeans lying to get on welfare and depriving the deserving of benefits.
So yeah. I think he should get props for recognizing bigotry when he...

Amidst the revelations forthcoming in Rawnsley's book about Gordon Brown, was the National Bullying Helpline right to reveal that members of Downing Street staff had contacted NBH, given that they say "We never share your details with anyone else. All correspondence is confidential."
I'd...
This will be fun. Will Americans watch it, like the British obsessively watched Obama versus McCain last year?

But should the SNP take place? They are threatening to take their case to court.
It's going round that Brown will call a general election in March, hoping to avoid the Budget and take advantage of the most favourable poll numbers Labour have got in years (Some put it as close as 6%).

'..A US senator has written to Gordon Brown, demanding the immediate return of the Lockerbie bomber to prison. ...'

Tsk tsk - demanding the poodles do what they are told.
It seems that USAN senators still think they run the world. They...
*Condolence (How fitting).
A huge furor has been kicked up over Gordon Brown's recent letter to the mother of a dead soldier.

Blears has resigned a day before the expected drubbing of Labour in tomorrow's European elections, his home secretary has stepped down in the wake of a porn scandal, his authority is battered, he is suffering huge opposition to his expected appointment of Balls to chancellor, and he is still...
Cops foil Brown 'bomb plot'
FOURTEEN suspected al-Qaeda terrorists were detained in Brussels today before Gordon Brown was due to meet EU leaders. One of the suspects is believed to be a suicide bomber mounting an operation "from which he was not expected to come back".
He added one suspect...
Gordon Brown has called for a new world order

What will the New World Order conspiracy theorists make of his comments ?
But apparently so:http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7650013.stm
...Peter Mandelson has been drafted back into government in a surprise move, as Gordon Brown reshuffles his cabinet. ...
I have to say this totally surprised me. Gordon Brown certainly seems to agree with Sun-tzu - talk about...
So.... a minister about to resign in protest at his leadership. Constant sniping from the back benchers. Efforts to use the party conference to start a leadership campaign.
Will they get enough momentum to get him shifted, or will he hang on?
Can they sensibly replace him without coming...
The man who makes children cry when he walks near and tulips droop when he passes by has allegedly made a 'coveted endorsement', which is stirring up the McCain camp.

Going for the ultimate award in tastelessness here, as the MP only died last night, but here is a thread to discuss the political implications of this.
This constituency is in Scotland, and the seat is currently held by Labour with a majority of about 10,000 (compare Glasgow East where the...
If there were an election today, latest opinion suggests almost the entire cabinet would lose their seats, including Brown.
Setting this poll on a timer, you have three days to cast your vote.
I'm sure someone can then calculate how the commons would change if our votes reflected the...
A question which would have seemed ludicrous only a few months, is now gaining at least some momentum. Following the rout at Crewe, an embarrassing fifth place in Henley, and the Scottish Labour leader resignation, Brown now faces a Glasgow by-election. On the face of it, a13,000 majority...
Blair phase 2 has hailed the end of New Labour with the conservatives winning their first by-election in 26 years.
It seems more and more likely Cameron will be waking up as Prime Minister in 2009/10, if he keeps the wheels on his parties current momentum.
I wish I had something solid to...
Sure it's a bit of a gimmick, but I quite liked the idea :)
Hopefully it will highlight some of the absurdities of the current obsession with biometric data. I hope they manage to get some prints :D
Our beloved leader is 57 years old today.
Let's all sit back and bask in the warmth of our favourite moments from Comrade Brown's life.

Ha ha. That Gordon, always a joker.
What's the verdict on the man? It's been about 6 or 7 months.
There is a new petition on the 10 Downing Street site. Nice timing as it happens, with Rowan Williams showing such bad judgment last week. Spread the word.
A White House official, being interviewed by The Telegraph, says...
Oh, and shame on The Telegraph for quoting an unnamed source putting out the official message in the first place. I guess they're no more interested in accountability in news reporting than are their American counterparts...
I like Gordon Brown. I think he is everything a politician should be.
Rational, wise, practical, slightly boring, and relies on evidence.
It is an elitist argument, I understand, but I refuse to believe Gordon believes in God. Or is at least a FSM sympathiser.
I could just ask him if I ever...
A: Gordon Brown?
B: Gordon Brown?
C: Gordon Brown?
D: Gordon Brown?
I am being a bit melodramatic, but is anyone thoroughly disgusted by Gordon Brown's rise to power without any word or vote cast on the matter from the British people? Granted, this kind of thing has happened before, but.. it...
I don't suppose it's as momentous as the US presidential thing, but it certainly deserves more media (and Forum?) coverage than it's got in proportion.
Interesting news today:

So Gordon has set out his bid for the premiership, by tinkering with the tax systems in a pretty revenue neutral way, cutting basic rate tax from 22% to 20% and abolishing the 10% “starting rate”.
Any thoughts on these , it seems pretty tame budget to me, I don’t smoke anymore so I’m not worried...
