Quick note - the problem with Youtube videos not embedding on the forum appears to have been fixed, thanks to ZiprHead. If you do still see problems let me know.
Greeting forumites,
I got an e-mail from a friend asking about something called "Water4Gas", some sooper-seekrit technique that adds a dose of hyrolyzed water to the fuel system to improve gas mileage.
Now it is quite obvious to me that this is a scam. There are no links to scientific...
I was looking up some stuff on Google and found overconfident's perpetual motion machine on the Steorsn forum (makers of the flop known as Orbo).
If you do a search on Google, its the first result. Here is a gif of what is supposed to happen:
Its located at...
A friend of mine who is otherwise a good mechanic seems to have drunk a little too much of the Kool-Aid from this site:
http://www.waterpoweredcar.com/
He's currently planning on converting a car to running on water, and while I didn't want to say anything, I fear he's a little overly...

While browsing for hovercraft design, the name "Searle" came up along with references to a "Searle Effect Generator", or SEG as he calls it. Most of the site smells con-ish: only vague references to testimonials, need to pay him $50 to join his "forums" and/or gain access to the "really useful...
Guy claims to have found a way to burn salt water. Took about 1 second for my BS detector to start pinging, and another thirty seconds of googling to find out the energy needed to burn water is more than the energy that is produced from the burning, and it's probably just another supposedly...
Professor Sir Eric Ash just wrote a column on the Steorn device:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/6283374.stm
Two telling elements in that story:
and
He does not know where the energy comes from, and only has a vague hypothesis about it. He doesn't put forth how the device converts...
No physics laws have been broken, yet free energy has arrived.
Turns out the only problem has been skepticism.

For those who know about this story.
Steorn have reportedly raised €14million from private investors ahead of the "expert evaluation" of their "technology".
Beats working for it I suppose, but this does help to clarify some of the lingering questions about why these people are doing this...
I've been reading up about Steorn, Perendev, and the rest. I don't know why I am so fascinated by them, but I am. Am I alone?
I seriously doubt that there will ever be any actual product (that works as described) created by this crowd. But I am still very curious as to what goes on in the mind...
America's money is pretty much worthless without oil to back it. There have been thousands of claims of free energy in the past, but the subject has grown in popularity lately in the main stream, due to the internet. I have learned of many Over-Unity machine conspiracy theories in the past few...
For those not up to date on this global fraud see their web site

They proclaim that they now have 12 "jurors" signed to "contract" in a "process" that will "validate" their "technology" (excuse all the quote marks, I feel they are necessary).
The have published on their web...
I have been pondering the following design for a free-energy device using nano-technology for at least ten years. I still didn't get a satisfying explanation for why it won't work. Since I think there are a lot of people interested in this subject on this forum, I thought I'd give it a try here...
I'm sure most of you have seen this via BoingBoing, but just in case anyone hasn't, and wants a good chuckle, check out this hilarious video shill for a "Tesla Free Energy Generator" - it's 500% efficient!

I'm not sure...
I've designed a free energy machine, and constructed some of the parts for the device in my workshop. The power source for the motor is a quadrupole magnet, which are worth over $10k per magnet. They are not sold to the general public and are only used in classified and restricted nuclear...

It sounds like they advertised to get independent scientists (not biased skeptical organizations or personalities) to test their product.
There's a lot of sites which talk about "free energy" and "perpetual motion"
they generally do not talk about it in the sense of solar energy, but in the sense of energy from nothing. I'm not going to go into it too deeply, but it's rather hard for me to believe in "free energy" in the sense...
Can Mr Randi debunk this??:eye-poppi

Careful folks, we might snap the mind loose from its body connection here.

If this has already been posted, I apologize.
The web site I had originally copied this from is down now, for unknow reasons:
"The general theory that Global Warming is caused by the burning of fossil
fuels is wrong, wrong, wrong! It is actually caused by all of the "Free
Energy" "Perpetual Motion Machines" put into use by unscrupulous...
Dennis Lee and his free energy machine? And people wonder why they should be a skeptic; sigh. If people really do want free electricity they should buy some solar pannels and batteries, the panels last 30 years.
Looks like Dennis Lee, the Joe Newman clone, is starting up again. Here's a preliminary schedule of his tours this year.
Seems like he's gone over the top - he's always targeted religious groups more than others as potential "victims". His new site drives that point home.
Anybody on that side...
Just thought I'd resurrect this thread...
I thought Tilley had been exposed as a conman and would've faded away, but I've just been to his website (http://www.tilleyfoundation.com) and was surprised to see he's still going strong.
He is now working on an electric bike (to add to the cars...
Now here is a project that is being funded by local governments.

It's amazing the crap that people can get the gov't to pay for.
