A free, weekly Edmonton newspaper titled VUE Weekly recently published this article:

The magazine is something I read every week, and while far from my favorite thing to read, it is, for the most part, not bad. The article above, however...
Here is an interesting development concerning the practice of chiropractic in the UK.
The chiropractic regulatory body, the General Chiropractic Council (GCC), has just lodged a formal complaint with the Press Complaints Commission (PCC) against three UK newspapers for “inaccurate, misleading...
My company is having an employee health fair in a couple weeks and, due to some unrelated frustrations at work, I feel like making trouble. The bullet points on the flier include 1) acupuncture demonstrations 2)naturopathic medicine and 3) chiropractic along with blood pressure screening, dental...
I personally dont believe in the work of chiropractic medicine. I do not want no one messing with my spine. What are other peoples opinions on chiropractic medicine. Does anyone have any scientific evidence against chiropractic medicine?
This is just in regards to lower back pain and stuff like that.
I'm not talking about children or many of the other woo claims chiropractors make.
Wolff's Law seems to support the idea of re-alignment. In fact, I know that's how martial artists get the bone strength to break bricks and ice...
Deadly twist at the chiropractor's office
As has been pointed out more than once. But it's nice to see it getting some mainstream media attention.
Of course they have to give some space in the article to the chiwoopractors themselves, who say the dangers are "overplayed" and strokes are...
I caught a bit of an infomercial today touting the great health benefits of the "ENAR" product - an abbreviation of "Electro Neuro Adaptive Regulator".
The acronym alone spiked my BS meter along with many buzzwords that typically accompany sham treatments - It even has pedigree as it was...
My boss has migraine headaches, recently she started daily visits to a chiropractor. She and some others in the office are always talking about the marvels of chiropractory...well actually they gossip about experiences and share notes on herbal/natural cures.
I was in an car wreck years ago...

I hadn't noticed anybody commenting on Randi's call for comparative education of chiropractors and doctors. I don't have first hand knowledge of either, but I will say that I have heard chiros trott out the "equivalent or more schooling" thing before. In my view, they're offering a very...
A chiropractic couple has been practicing in my home town for several years. And they offer a full and complete range of chiroquackery. I just got off the phone with my mother who had to vent about the latest edition. They have been running full page ads aimed at pregnant women - promoting...
First off, this is a serious thread. I don't really want to hear jokes, because we're talking about serious pain here.
I have extremely large breasts, way out of proportion to the rest of me. My breasts are 7" larger than my hips, which corresponds to five dress sizes. In other words, I'm a...
Tonight, the Westchester PC User's Group ( www.WPCUG.org ) is scheduled to have a doctor speak about "chiropractic methods that help us regain control over our busy lives". (What this has to do with computers is beyond me, but anyways...)
I intend to be at this meeting, and I will carry along a...
Well I am new here so I can't post a full URL, remove the +'s below. Was from a free magazine for parents.

Amazes me what they can say in these days.

PS - On the upside I am glad we've found a local Montsorri school that focuses on Science and critical...
I was wondering if anyone had any links to good summaries of why Chiropracty is pure junk and nonsense that they could share. I know I've read a few things here in the past and being an avid P&T fan, saw their ******** episode on it. But I was looking for more information and summaries of the...

I'm conflicted about this. I know the guy who runs the World Chiropractic Alliance, and he's the woo-est of the woo as far as chiropractic is concerned. Even a lot of mainstream chiropractors disavow this guy. And, for the record, let me...
Ok, be gentle as I’m still fairly new to this board and I know Chiropractic is viewed as woo.
In the past, I have been sent to Chiropractors, by my MD, for back & neck sprains and strains. I did find total relief from my injuries in about 3 weeks. The ultrasound, diatherapy and physical...
Hi
Now Im most probably going to display my ignorance and sound incredibly stupid, but I was surprised to learn that Chiropracty is considered as quackery.
I genuinely thought that it was a legitimate case of manipulating the spine.
As you can see, I dont have a wide knowlegde of it, but could...
My sister thru out her back this weekend (it made her miss my gig!) and from some friendly advice she was instructed to go to a chiropractor. I being the most available the next day (and having some advice of my own) volunteered to take care of my big sis and take her to the chosen...

Ben Goldacre has an interesting article in today’s Guardian.
On reading an article ‘Yes We Can Cure ADHD’ in the Daily Mail last week, apparently written by “neurologist Dr Robin Pauc”, he decided to check out Dr Pauc’s credentials. (Dr Pauc has written a book suggesting that learning...

Chiropractor claims he can go back in time
By John McCarthy, Associated Press Writer | April 6, 2006

Hi,
A friend of mine is a Chiropractor. A few years ago, a mate and I went and visited her in Sydney and she took us into her practice and gave us the complete work over (which in hindsight should have sounded a huge alarm bell as there was nothing wrong with either of us to begin with)...

The researchers said they looked at all studies evaluating the benefits of spinal manipulation for period pain, colic, asthma, allergy and dizziness - as well as back and neck pain up to 2005.
It was found the data did not show spinal manipulation...
Shock horror, new report says "It don't work guv'nor"

It seems that Edzard Ernst is making his way through the alt. med. industry in the UK and causing a fuss. This time he doesn't say anything about "people should try acupuncture instead" which...
So my wife was diagnosed with TMJ (t mandibular j - the jaw thing) last fall, and went to a dentist to get it treated. He created two orthotics for her, one for daytime and one for nightime use, and then told her to come back once a month for checkups. This whole thing cost about $2500.
Well...
Someone just alerted me to this website. Does anyone know anything about this? I looked at what the chiropractor had to say and she unashamedly talks about subluxations. Should people run a mile from this?

I haven't the foggiest idea what this procedure encompasses, and I'm not sure I want to know...
...it sounds somewhat painful...
And yes, it's a real message on a real chiropractor's office here in town...I took the picture myself...
Having lurked around these forums for some time (and learnt a great deal btw!) recent circumstances have prompted me to make my first post!
I’m currently having a “debate” with my wife over suggested treatments for colic for our 9 week old baby. In search of some relief (for both her and our...
