I hate to start yet another thread about the Obama birth certificate controversy, but this is something that sticks in my craw a little because it reeks of sensationalism and lack of critical thinking...

This just arrived in my inbox; No details other than that.

Why do the GOP moderates (Minus Mitt Romney who seems to have done the right thing) almost universally say that Obama's birthplace 'Is a distraction' or 'Isn't the main issue'. What's so difficult about saying: 'President Obama was born in the United States. End of discussion.'?
