General UK politics VIII - The Last Tory

Farage has boasted that he's been in talks with a foreign power who has agreed to take the UK's refugees from Afghanistan. That power? The Taliban.

I was going to say it would be like sending Jews back to Nazi Germany, but we know Farage's (alleged) opinion of Hitler.
Farage has been nowhere near the Taliban. They're brown and Muslim and foreign and don't speak English. And they wouldn't have a bar of him.

UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has said he is "not going to yield" to pressure from the US president to join the conflict in Iran.

It comes after Donald Trump told Sky News that when the US asked the UK for help "they were not there". He also suggested the tariff agreement with the UK "can always be changed".

Sir Keir told the Commons: "I'm not going to change my mind, I'm not going to yield, it is not in our national interest to join this war and we will not do so."

Yeah, it's really stupid of you to invest in renewable energy, now that oil is such a cheap and safe choice.

GB NEWS NEWS EXCLUSIVE:
Keir Starmer spent £30,000 of YOUR money on beds, sofas, Ottoman blanket boxes and a £1,395 TV unit.

Starmer lectured Boris Johnson about donor spending on Downing St., but this is TAXPAYER cash.

Let’s run through some of the bill (not extensive)
£4,440 on three sofas
£1,400 on a bed
£1,630 on a shower screen
£990 on kitchen chairs
£1,395 on a “TV unit” (screen not included, obviously)

All charged to the British taxpayer. During a cost of living crisis.

And it’s not just furniture.
£9,164 on “painting works.” £2,803 on “storage throughout.” £721 on blinds.
This is the same man who told us there was “no money left” and needed to means-test pensioners’ winter fuel payments.

Number 10 says Victoria Starmer was “consulted on certain elements.”
So the Prime Minister’s wife helped pick out the Ottoman blanket boxes (£363) and dressing tables (£290) — and you picked up the tab.

In 2021, Starmer savaged Boris Johnson over “Wallpapergate” — expensive flat renovations funded with donor cash.
At least Johnson used a donor. Starmer just went straight for your pocket.

Downing Street says it’s fine because “none of the items belong to the Prime Minister.”
Right. He just lives there. Sleeps in the £1,400 bed. Watches telly from the £1,395 unit.

But it’s the government’s sofa. So that’s alright then.

Doesn't seem unreasonable to me. Do we really expect the Prime Minister to pop down to IKEA and choose the cheapest option? More rage bait.
