General UK politics VIII - The Last Tory

Kemi asked the PM - where’s the Defence Investment Plan? Starmer didn’t even attempt to answer. No date; nothing.

This is the price we’re paying for Labour prioritising welfare over Defence. Our country deserves better

Orban accepted the loss and called his opponent to concede the election. I seem to recall you sought to deny democracy after a 2016 referendum. Could’ve been worse, eh? He could’ve fobbed off a load of subpostmasters in one of the biggest miscarriages of justice in living memory.

Trump, Putin, Farage… your boy took a hell of a beating.
Congratulations to the people of Hungary for showing that populist extremists can be defeated – even despite Donald Trump’s best efforts.

They are buying your votes.

This isn’t about giving struggling families help.

This is about ‘making mornings easier for all families’.

Do we really want the state doing everything for us? What about personal responsibility? How infantilising.

I think the Tory party needs to set up some kind of medical screening process, they seem to haya worrying epidemic of memory problems

Strange how this isn't a big story on the Sky znews channel or website.

Sky reporting Labour are planning £3.5bn of cuts to Defence this year - extraordinary, with war on two fronts. Of course, lifting the 2 child benefit cap has cost Labour circa £3bn.

Today, 2 of the 3 authors of Labour’s own Strategic Defence Review - Lord Robertson & Gen Barrons - have slammed Starmer’s failure to fund Defence. Robertson says ‘cut welfare’. We’d restore the 2 child benefit cap to fund defence & have offered to work with the PM to go further

Labour started the dialogue with Mauritius over the Chagos Islands.

In 2008 then Prime Minister Gordon Brown agreed with Navinchandra Ramgoolam, Prime Minister of Mauritius, to establish a bilateral dialogue over the Chagos Islands.

The first discussions took place on Wednesday 14th January 2009, within which the issue of Mauritian sovereignty was discussed at official level.

Labour opened the door on the Chagos Islands and set the conditions for giving it away.

The Conservatives held it at bay for years and then in 2024 Labour immediately picked up where they left off.

And here we are

Given that the reason we have to give up sovereignty of the islands is an International Court of Justice ruling in 2019 and that negotiations started in 2022 I call ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊.

Europe is desperate for Energy, and yet the United Kingdom refuses to open North Sea Oil, one of the greatest fields in the World. Tragic!!! Aberdeen should be booming. Norway sells its North Sea Oil to the U.K. at double the price. They are making a fortune. U.K., which is better situated on the North Sea for purposes of energy than Norway, should, DRILL, BABY, DRILL!!! It is absolutely crazy that they don't... AND, NO MORE WINDMILLS! President DJT
