Joining the foundation outside NA?

I was thinking of donating $250 and joining the foundation, but I live in Sweden. There doesn't seem to be any xenophobia discrimination exclusion towards non-Americans from what I can read, and the drop-down box allows me to, indeed, pick Sweden (and doesn't seem to complain). However, it also requires me to pick a state/province, and complains when I pick the "blank state" option, and I can't find any "non-US/Canada" option or anything of the sort.

Am I missing something or is membership only available to North Americans?

Membership isn't restricted to Americans (i joined a couple of years back I'm in the UK). I'm afraid I can't help with your specific question though.

I agree with the OP. This is the page he is talking about https://interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/FormRecord.aspx?formId=21. State is a required field. However the only options are US states, even for overseas places.

Request someone tell whoever designed the page the world is more than the 51 odd states of USA.

Edit. I have sent the webmaster an e-mail pointing out this thread.

Not entirely right - There are the 50 US states, the four (I think) commonwealths, and a number of Canadian states!

It gets worse. I just went past that screen, after putting in a state and it went to another site and asked for my credit card details. The country field has disappeared. They insist I live in a state of USA or Canada. So no, I cannot donate, without giving a fake address.

Got a reply from Bart. He says

You know, this was supposed to be fixed. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. You SHOULD be able to do this, so let me get our people to fix this problem.

Thanks again for the feedback!

This was in response to an e-mail I sent under a day ago.

Darat and I only deal with the forum itself. Questions about the JREF (non-forum) site, membership and TAM all go to other people. I hope they solve the problem.

I got around this by phoning Linda, who simply took my credit card details.
Linda has retired, but you might try phoning.

I have not been a paid up member for some years though. One way and another, I've donated a fair bit to JREF and there are other charities I feel I should support at the minute.

I'd just like to inform everyone that after receiving the newsletter this month I checked the application forms again, and it seems that this has now been fixed, and that I am now a member of the JREF.
