When we moved to Xenfora some of the signature options didn't come over. In the old software signatures were limited by a character limit, on Xenfora there are more options and there is a character number and number of lines limit. I've set maximum number of lines to 4 and unlimited characters.

Government shutdown watch

On Threads: Musk renames USA X.
Honestly, I wouldn't even be surprised if they tried to officially change the flag and the country's name at this point. X Inc. sounds as good of a name as any. Heck, go all the way and make the people citizens of the corporations they work for instead of the nation.

"...Meanwhile in the race for national CEO, Director Musk seems to overall be winning his bid for re-election, but still seems to struggle with winning Microsoft voters?"
"That's right, Kelly. As you know, Microsoft commands 34 electoral votes, so he'll definitely want to watch those numbers there, however, our numbers show him up four percent with Nestlé after agreeing to grant their workers amnesty from the deportation program. It's still looking to be a close race, Kelly, we'll keep you updated here at OAN!"
"Moving on now, militias and police contractors clashed with protesters on the Katy Freeway in Houston, where street fighting is ongoing for the fourth week in a row..."

Trump and Musk: "The Democrats have taken the USA to the brink of the abyss. President Trump, your favorite president, is going to take the USA in bold steps forward..."

A day before potential shutdown, House rejects package hastily assembled after Trump and Musk scuttled prior deal

defense spending bill passed without a hitch (despite DOD never managing to pass an audit), so why bother with anything else?

In the "Ouch..." department, we find a Child Cancer Research charity group celebrating a $190 million grant the day before Elonia stopped it dead.

Oligarchy must not have its way! Stop him.
I don't always agree with Reich but that's a good summary. It's so ironic that many people justified their Trump vote by insisting he would drain the swamp, and here he is on the brink of creating the slimiest deepest swamp in history.

It's like the Immobiliare. Trump realized during his first term that it's un-drainable.

Does anyone know if this was still in the budget that was just passed, or was it removed?

Ok, this was a surprise:

Fox Host Demolishes Musk Over New Spending Bill’s Child Cancer Research Cuts
Story by William Vaillancourt

Fox News co-host Jessica Tarlov criticized Elon Musk for getting involved in Congress’ spending bill deliberations—and took particular umbrage at the fact that funding for a program researching pediatric cancer got stripped from a measure that Musk and President-elect Donald Trump blew up Wednesday night in dramatic fashion.

But this makes me hopeful:

Democrat Hopes Pediatric Research Funds May Be Added Back to Spending Bill
Published Dec 20, 2024 at 12:39 PM EST

Doggett, in an interview with CNN Friday morning, said he wants the funding, as well as some other bipartisan programs cut from the original package, back in the spending bill.
"The pain and anguish on the basis of families that face a child threatened by death and disability from cancer, that was a reasonable provision we got Republicans to agree on. Some funding for community health centers. And I hope that can be included in the bill. Those are the kind of programs that some want to cut to find tax cuts for those at the top," the Texas Democrat said.

I still don't know if the funding has been restored, but I'll keep looking.

The king is the king for as long as he can get people to cater to his whims. And the king's favorite rides along, like a tapeworm writhing around in the royal bowels.

Apt description of MAGA politicians who are so far up Trump's anus. These parasites can often be seen crawling out of the host's anus.

Wondering if this statute applies for President Musk and VP Trump.
