Trump tells supporters they won’t have to vote in the future: ‘It’ll be fixed!’
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/jul/27/trump-speech-no-need-to-vote-future
“Christians, get out and vote! Just this time – you won’t have to do it any more,” the Republican former president said on Friday night at a rally hosted in West Palm Beach, Florida, by the far-right advocacy group Turning Point Action.

“You know what? It’ll be fixed! It’ll be fine. You won’t have to vote any more, my beautiful Christians,” he said with a slight shake of his head and his right hand pressed against the left side of his chest.

He added: “I love you. Get out – you gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.”
Trump is trying to bring an end to our democratic republic. Not even the RNC wants this kind of thing, probably.

Video sauce.

This is the voter fraud the GOP was looking for. It was there all along and will only get worse. Too bad for the GOP, it is RINO's committing these crimes.

he also bizarrely slips in an “i’m not christian” in the middle of it. bizarre clip.

anyway it’s not out of context. he says it like 10 times.

He's right.

After four years of Adrenochrome Therapy, Biden will have the youth and magical power to just take over the US without the need for elections

You have to appreciate how Trump uses language to give himself a plausible 'out'. When the 'liberal' media chide him on these sort of dog whistle speeches, he can (truthfully) say that it was in the context of him supposedly believing 'Christians' don't get out to vote, so his excuse is that he simply was trying to reassure them that they only have to get out for this 'very important' vote because once he is in office, he will deliver all his promises to them and restore our white nation to its Christian Nationalist beginnings. If you didn't actually know that Trump was a sociopathic wannabe dictator, it would be easy to accept that he wasn't referring to elections being fixed, he was referring to fixing all that ails America, and that he wasn't talking about eliminating voting, he was talking about the importance of getting out to vote this one special time. That's the way Fox News and all of Trump's supporters will spin these mob boss speeches. Everyone who is not in the cult and who can see through the nonsense knows that he is doing this all with a wink and a nod, because he really *does* want to end the need for elections, he wants to be King.

15 years ago if a presidential nominee had said this it would be headline news in every mainstream news source in the country. As it is, its being mentioned but will soon be lost in the stream of non-stop nonsense.

Its amazing how successfully Trump has managed to normalize this type of talk.

Yeah, What The Heck was that?? Was it a Freudian slip, referring to his ascension as the AntiChrist?

Exactly, It's his superpower. I seriously would not be surprised if next speech he tells the crowd to Lynch the VP, and it will end up as a small blurb at the bottom of page 3. 'It's just Trump being Trump' they will say.

I thought he said "I'm a Christian" but perhaps I misheard it. Don't know any reason he'd say "I'm not Christian."

Yeah, the consensus online is he slurred "I'm ahhh Christian" but it sure sounded like 'not' to me. I know why he would have said "not"--same reason he says he wants to be dictator and throw out the constitution, he doesn't think about what he says, he just blurts it out so it's rife with freudian slips and insights into his psychosis.

If you don't fix your election it will have a bunch of little elections later and you'll be stuck with them.

it sounded like not to me as well. he’s never made a lot of sense at best and at worst, which is now, he’s been dementedly slurring his words. so it could be either and i don’t think it matters that much. nothing he says is genuine

That is what we are "stuck" with now. State and federal elections every two years. Special elections in between those at times. The ballots contain initiatives and other provisions not directly related to offices filled by politicians. :)

Statement from the Harris campaign

HARRIS for PRESIDENT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Statement on Trump's Promise to End Democracy

Donald Trump has previously said if he didn't win there would be "bloodbath" and claimed, "I'm not sure that you'll ever have another election in this country."

He has called for the "termination" of our Constitution and bragged "a lot of people like" his calls to be a "dictator on day one."

WATCH: Last night, Trump again vowed to end democracy if he did win:

"You won't have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what - it will be fixed, it will be fine. You won't have to vote anymore."

Statement from Harris for President Spokesperson James Singer on Trump's vow to end democracy:

"When Vice President Harris says this election is about freedom she means it. Our democracy is under assault by criminal Donald Trump: After the last election Trump lost, he sent a mob to overturn the results. This campaign, he has promised violence if he loses, the end of our elections if he wins, and the termination of the Constitution to empower him to be a dictator to enact his dangerous Project 2025 agenda on America. Donald Trump wants to take America backward, to a politics of hate, chaos, and fear this November America will unite around Vice President Kamala Harris to stop him."

It can be read as if Trump means America will be fixed/great again too...

it sounded like not to me as well. he’s never made a lot of sense at best and at worst, which is now, he’s been dementedly slurring his words. so it could be either and i don’t think it matters that much. nothing he says is genuine

But yes, nothing he says is genuine.

He often takes a misunderstanding of his words to mean what he actually meant.

Who the **** knows with Trump - yet another reason not to vote for him.

Nothing amazes me more then how the evaneglicals have embraced Trump, despite to any halfway intelligent observer it is clear he is not a Christian, and is taking them for a ride.

Nothing amazes non-Americans less. All of them, and Trump, have always been liars, bullies, mobsters, semi-criminals, arch-grifters and scam-artists, living on the edge of the American legal system with zero empathy for their victims. They share almost 100% of their world views and tactics in common.

And, they're taking him for a ride. Who makes up Trump loyalists?

They want to replace the government with a theocracy. Trump appeals to the anti-woke crowd which gives him enough votes to win, then the theocracy will throw them under the bus. Trump's so complaint in their scheme, I doubt they'll throw him under the bus, not that he has long to live.

That and convincing millions of mostly lower and middle class rural and suburban people that he, born to wealth and a life-long New Yorker, is one of them

My assumption is that he meant they wouldn't have to vote again for him, but being Trump he's letting it hang out there. Laura Ingraham had him on her show and he said, "Vote for me, you're not going to have to do it again," but then he goes off on how he's going to fix everything so you won't have to vote again. Ingraham tries to get him to say that they won't be able to vote for him, but they'll still be voting, but he absolutely declines, going off onto a tangent about how Christians don't vote and even does a bit about how the Jews should never vote for Democrats, reminiscent of Biden's, "You ain't Black, man." Later on, he implies that his point is that if they vote for him he'll fix everything, so they can go back to not turning out.

Of course it's one of those things that doesn't make any sense, and you can tell that Ingraham finds the notion of no elections after 2024 ridiculous.

I wonder who will throw who under the truck, though.
I don't think imposing a theocracy on the US is going to be as easy as some people here think it is.

The problem is not all that long ago, anybody saying that crap political career would be dead.
Sad thing is people like Ingrham support Trump thinking that somehow they can control him They can't. COnservatives in Germany made the same mistake about the Nazis.

Thanks for reminded mi I painte with too broad a brush. Many Evangelicals do not support Trump.CHristainty Today, a top evengelical webiste has been very critical of him.
You seem to have it in for Christianity in general, COunt me out.

I think they've been convinced by the Horatio Alger just so stories (and their modern descendants) that they can become as "rich" as T****y, despite the fact that it's become increasingly impossible to leave the socioeconomic class you were born into (except to fall off the ladder).

In context it's just Trump's magical thinking. Nothing more to see there.

I dunno.

Whatever might be going on behind those eyes is irrelevant to some extent.

If he says things like this and the context doesn't make things better, then make sure everybody knows what he says and what that would mean.

In the USA, Christianity is usually equated to evangelical Christianity, particularly the revivalist snake-handling tent-preacher types who end up owning grand mansions and many private jets. And these evangelicals do, by and large, support Trump. I explained why. These people I do definitely have it in for. They are neither Christian nor christian.

However I do not have it in for all who profess to be Christians. Those who hold to and practice genuine Christianity I have plenty of time and tolerance for. And I can distinguish them from the former.

Perhaps you painted with too broad a brush once again?
