You may be a pain in the ass, but you are also wise.
Yet it is a bit of a strawman to say that Edward McCall is being "demeaned". I'm taking my lead from a friend who did an online search about "Amanda Knox" and for the first few clicks thought the two sites were the same. He said that it was not just the layouts, but the content which made his brain click to what was going on....
So, you are all for letting each individual sort this out for themselves. Good advice.
So if it is demeaning to ask, let me ask again - who exactly IS Edward McCall? That you think it's demeaning to even ask the question says everything a lurker needs to hear, I guess.
I thought we were opponents in this? Yet every once in a while you say a wise thing.
My point is that people won't care about McCall one way or the other and making him the focus takes away from the content.
Put translations side by side if the dark side one misleads. Journalists generally don't care who put up the information they care about the information and how it was sourced.
With all due respect, Grinder, I thought you were trying to make some other point.
So, if this is your point then there is no point. The fake-wiki, pulled together under a single pseudonym, "Edward McCall", is a go-to site for researchers on this case.
It is a site endorsed by Andrea Vogt.
Let me say that again.
It is a site endorsed by Andrea Vogt. Andrea Vogt just produced a stupid documentary recently aired on BBC3.
The focus of that documentary, as well as the fake wiki, is to push the Mignini/Comodi prosecution of the case. Not the Massei findings, not the findings of the ISC which reversed the Hellmann acquittals, not the case as presented by Crini in Florence, and (this is to be seen) the findings of the Nencini court. It endorsed (in content) the Mignini/Comodi failed prosecution.
"Failed"? Yes. The Crini prosecution advanced completely different stuff... making double jeopardy a concern. But don't let that stop me, but it is an issue.... how many times does Italy get to reinvent this crime before they can convict someone?
This is where I go all conspiratorial on you. So forgive me.
Edward McCall, whoever he is, is an unknown quantity, his expertise or bona fides completely unknown. No less than Andrea Vogt endorses him, as well as three hate sites: two PMFs (which don't get along) and one TJMK.
It is obvious that it is extremely important to know who he is. It should have been important to BBC3 to know the sources for the stupid BBC3 documentary they bought from Darkness Descending as well as from Vogt.
There is an agenda floating out there to rehabilitate Giuliano Mignini, who has horribly corrupted the two noteworthy cases he's ever handled in his up-country career. It is clear that the continued prosecution of Knox and Sollecito has been taken out of his up-country hands, and is being managed by others with other items of agenda in play.
But...... "Edward McCall", unknown expert with unknowable credentials, pushes the Mignini/Comodi prosecution as if it should have been the last word. I would list for you all the 13 things Massei himself implied Mignini/Comodi got wrong (wrong motive, no psychopathology, friendly relations between Kercher/Knox, etc.) but for some reason some get upset when I do that.
Hell, even Crini has reinvented the case.... no DNA evidence means that to keep Raffaele's kitchen knife in play requires a reinvention (and departure from Mignini/Comodi who never once pushed the idea) that the bedsheet stain is compatible with the kitchen knife. Six years after AK and RS's arrests, Crini had to reinvent the crime away from Mignini....
... Yet McCall, whoever the hell he is, wants Mignini to endure and survive this comedy of errors.
On the other side? Steve Moore. John Douglas. Saul Kassim. The now retired top-DNA expert from the FBI. All known quantities. That guy from the Idaho Innocence project who Vogt tried to vilify.... are we noting a theme here?
Who is Edward McCall? I duly note that you have stopped saying that it is demeaning to even ask the question. We're at least progressing on that.
