The Polish foreign minister has been filmed telling a protest leader that if the opposition did not sign up to a deal offered by Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych "you will all be dead".

Radoslaw Sikorski, one of three European foreign ministers who brokered Friday's agreement to end the bloody standoff, was emerging from talks with opposition leaders when he issued the stark warning.

"If you don't support this [deal] you'll have martial law, the army. You will all be dead," he said, in comments that were captured on film by ITV News.

Fits the picture. And on the other side of the square Nuland was likely distributing cookies again.

And what picture would that be?

One that would take several thousand words to explain and I'm not sure if the energy to do so would be well spent. My fear in the immediate situation is that this "agreement" and the retreating of police forces from the center will lead to the extremists establishing cells all over the place, with the weapons stolen in the west reportedly in part already arrived in Kiew, and take the next opportunity to escalate even more, which will get blamed on "the regime" again, as a feature, not a bug.

I really hope I'm wrong because on the paper, there's not much wrong with that document (if you ignore the fact that we are talking about an elected president facing elections in around a year and the presidential powers in the current constitution are not that much greater than in the USA, for example, and to change them back to what they were in 2004 would in theory be something to be achieved by ... what was the word ... ah, yeah: democracy).

What does that have to do with the Polish Foreign Minister being caught on tape telling the opposition that unless they caved into the Ukranianian president's offer, the Ukrainian president would call in the army to kill them all?

Didn't I just tell you that I don't consider the energy necessary to break that down to you well spent?

The truth is never an excuse.

CE is lying, got caught lying and flatly refused to acknowledge it and now acts like defending the position that (s)he has staked in the thread isn't worth the time and effort?

Is there a vowel in the month again?

Then he just jumps back as if he's done something, and the cop - maybe held down previously, rises and does that odd thing, as if hit with a tranquilizer dart.
Watch it again, you can see that he drops because a thrown object hits him in the head.

More Nazis. Or maybe the imperialists got to them, as our truther friends contend.

Ukrainian neo-nazis aren't a conspiracy. The question is how many of them are there. I find it ironic that the most protest is occurring in the most neo-Nazi laden states, aka the further west you move in Ukraine.

I really thought Ukrainian protestors would get some commonsense, go home, and draw up some convincing election slogans for 2015. I see now that the country is about to descend into madness in an attempted coup against the legitimately elected government of the people.

It seems they're not as keen to live as a vassal state of Russia as you apparently are.

That's why they can't....

Wait for it....

Wait for it...

VOTE THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION OUT!

They have the power to vote.

Waging a coup is certainly not a legitimate way of resolving a democratic nation's problems.

You presume incorrectly that freedom of expression, freedom of the press, and the political process is free. Those have been whittled away steadily over the last few years in Ukraine.

I bet you believe that Iraqis could have voted out Saddam.

I suggest to forget those listed weapons as those usually are falling very often into category of logical fallacies or being just nonsense. (And they don't help your argument one bit)

I disagree, but will keep an eye.

So does the agreement put them on the EU track as the rioters demanded?

Wildcat, it's a revolution now? The kind seeking total government overthrow? Yikes. That could get bloody. The reason for it is that somehow some of the rioters got shot as well as police?*
