Coke creates advert that causes conservatives to go nuts

I'm more disappointed in Bob Dylan for doing his FIAT commercial. There is so much wrong with that. What a joke. I never liked his music, but he went from "spokesman for a generation" (or whatever) to nothing in sixty seconds.

I don't think he ever called himself a "spokesman for a generation" and if he ever was that generation are now in their seventies, so it was hardly in "60 seconds".

Besides, it is rather old news that Bob Dylan has been doing commercials. He's been doing those for years and pretty much every time he does a new one somebody who says they don't care for him still squawks in outrage about the "spokesman for a generation" advertising underwear (or whatever).

I think the difference between "TV" and "computer monitor" is becoming vanishingly small. Would you consider your pc a "nice home theater" system?

So vanishingly small that we have our 50" TV hooked up to an older computer which serves as an Internet connection for us to stream TV and movies onto the TV.

Watch TV or watch TV derived box-sets? How do you avoid the adverts, especially in the US?

By using a DVR and using the FF (or 30 second skip) button liberally? I cannot see how anyone can stand to watch TV live anymore. There are now usually 18 minute of commercials to the hour, and they are replayed about 10,000 times.

Yeah, I never watch live TV and only watch the ads I want to watch.

Which is not always possible with DVDs. Some rentals won't let you FF the previews. Pisses me off to no end.

ETA: And there is no way to remove the product placement advertising from movies. I mean Marvel movies are little more than fancy Acura commercials at this point. Sure BMW started the genre with their film series in the early 2000s, but this is going a bit far.
