Hmmm...
Barbie Latza Nadeau ‏@BLNadeau 16s
Court clerk says "presumably verdict at 8" but everyone come back at 7 ...
It appears you might be right LJ (not that I ever doubted it :D).

Probably another delay.
Something was told, and some of the audience took their coats and departed, Bongiorno and Ghirga also took off their robes.

Well, that was an anti-climax.

.... as one positron said to the other as they both lay in bed smoking a cigarette

:p

(one for the particle physicists there....... suppose we've got to find some way of killing time for the next couple of hours......)

Lye Kercher's view and Patrick Lumumba's view

Lyle Kercher was quoted as saying, "We do (think Knox is guilty), although we can only go on the information we are given by our legal team and the information that was collected by forensic officers and detectives in the case."
SNIP
"'I expect Amanda to be convicted,' Lumumba said.
'Amanda has a part to play in all of this. I am sure that she is involved in the death of poor Meredith.'" link to Telegraph story. Upon what information Patrick based his opinion is unclear.

I'll take a wild guess: bigotry, blind belief in his lunatic lawyer, and the small matter of monetary gain.

Wow so the stereotype of Italians talking with their hands is right. watching the livestream, all the hand gestures and actions without sound is kinda funny to watch.

Dude needs to man up and figure it out for himself instead of trying to pass everything off to his hired gun.

What would typical financial terms be in the legal representation contract appointing the Italian lawyers to represent various members of the Kercher family? Will compensation be on a contingency basis as a percentage of the damages recovered, or will the Kerchers likely be liable for paying the attorney's out of pocket expenses or other costs or fees?

In other words, if the defendants are found not guilty are the Kerchers likely to still owe their Italian attorneys fees? Anyone have an idea how much?

black mark against the system

Stephanie, if you want justice for your sister and do not want innocent people falsely convicted why doesn't the Kercher family demand that Dr. Stefanoni release the missing DNA lab data files that she is withholding/concealing from the court and from the defense?
I agree 110%. If a nation's supreme court cannot or will not enforce reasonable discovery rules, who will? And without discovery, how can there be a fair trial?

It's a terrible idea, and it seems to me obviously unethical, to have a lawyer participating in a criminal matter on the basis of a contingency fee. Regardless of whether there is a civil matter joined.

Patrick on his prospects

Dude needs to man up and figure it out for himself instead of trying to pass everything off to his hired gun.
That goes double for Patrick. "Mr Lumumba said his life had been ruined by the false accusation. The pub he ran closed down and he finds it hard to find work as a musician. 'I'm no longer accepted in that world,' he said." link. Patrick's decision to open the bar was open to question (IIRC his friends may have advised against it at the time), and it was the police who kept it closed for several months without good reason.

Still chuckling over this quote and the handshake heard round the world. Really demonstrates how farcical this whole process is.

Almost as if he adds a disclaimer "although..."

I originally thought they were guilty, after all the evidence I cant see how anyone could really convict on the sketchy evidence and weak case(motives). Unless its purely political.

Different mask, different shirt, lighter eyebrows, better eyesight.

Yeah, you are right Dan, I got them mixed up.

I think the guy in the pic is actually the one squatting on the left looking at the rug at 00:12 of the 20110804_113759_Meredith_sopralluogo_Polizia_Scientifica_7_2.mp4 video.

The mask and the collar of his undergarment and his eyebrows are quite distinctive. They both wear glasses. The guy in the pic removes them and puts them on a lot.
