Merged Chick Tracts

Did anyone notice the Jesus in this comic has shorter cropped hair?

Which would be a violation of Jewish Orthodox law, which would be a sin on the part of Jesus, which would mean he wasn't the Messiah as described in the New Testament.

Jack Chick has committed blasphemy by denying the divinity and perfection of Christ! That subtle, evil bastard!

Well he does some nice doggy porn so it balances out.

Fang screws for you is better than Jesus dying for you.

I don't think the idea of Jesus not being an Orthodox Jew will make Chick lose much sleep.

"I bet Jack Chick has spawned more than one doctorate thesis in the psychiatric fields."

I've always wondered how many fundy's base their "theology" on a chick tract as opposed to the actual bible.
Look how they embrace non biblical ideas as the rapture, which is only, at it's core, 18th century fan fiction.

Uh, Orthodox Judaism came into being in the 19th century and therefore was unknown in the time of Jesus or for centuries after. In fact, the earliest depictions of Jesus were "prototypical Marine - short hair, clean-shaven"

I know it is almost a rational past time to poke holes in Chick's tracks but please let's not engage in the "history? what's that?" mind set he has. I have have to admit "Cathy" is very mild compared to earlier works and I wonder if Chick really has that much input on the tracks that have his name attached to them anymore.

I think pastors looking to scare up money and loyalty have more to do with things like the Rapture Ready craze than Jack Chick.

A Jack Chick double feature for the new year

1) Your Best Life

This is the classic This Was Your Life remade with a wealthy Hittite nosed Muslim protagonist.

You may recall, Chick has previously done a female version and a "colorized" version.

Does Chick really expect to make any converts with this one?
At least the previous permutations were aimed at people who culturally "sort of" believe in Jesus.

2) War Games!

Chick takes on the Jehovah's Witless.

The Witless gets saved:

Abdul Alhazred, you narrowed missed taking the bubbles out of my Twelfth Night champagne with that...that...that...

I don't understand the motives of those who believe this stuff. Narcissism.
Crazy World.

There's a line in the full Muslim version where the protagonist rejects Christianity, saying, "I don't need the prophet Jesus. I will take the way of Islam!".
That makes absolutely no sense.

Are these Chick Tracts as scam or a parody, I wonder? Is there any real money in it?
They seem a rather woeful way of attracting new converts.

Oh, shame on you all! You should not ridicule other people's beliefs. Its too dear for them, they will be offended <- that was sarcasm.

Does the cat have a name, I think the dog is Fang.

The utter immorality of Chick's doctrine practically defies belief. People are saved or fry in hell quite regardless of their thoughts or deeds. They either believe in Jesus and are saved, or they don't, and fry. It's revolting, but regrettably familiar as a traditionalist doctrine. How it could have taken hold on so many minds baffles me.

By the gods, he doesn't even pretend like he believes he is winning those imaginary debates any more. I mean seriously. Jehovah's Witnesses don't abide by the absolute authority of the watch tower, they abide by the authority of the elders, which they DO claim are inpsired by God. The Watchtower is merely an organ of communication. This is the least credible straw man ever.

And converting someone over the amount of nails in Jesus' hands? What if they struck two nails through both his hands?

To be fair, most Christians don't believe or support the things that Chick says in his tracts either.

They're real, genuine, and have been going on for many years.

This is one of the big issues I have with religion. They all assume their religion is the correct one and all of the other religions are wrong. There are many religions and if there is one correct religion that means that most of them are wrong. Worse there is no good way to tell which one is the correct one. Even if there IS correct one. The logical conclusion is that they are ALL wrong.

If there is a correct religion I am sure there would be strong evidence of this. I am thinking of the religion in Deep Space Nine. There is only one religion because it offers real benefits in this world. You do not have to wait to the next one as per the cartoon to find out.

This is one of the main reasons I gave up on religion.

My past as a roleplayer gave me an early awareness of Mr Chick's work (Dark Dungeons), so I probably should've been clearer with my last comment.
I simply meant that I couldn't see his angle, as I can't believe that he has much success with his tracts.
He's still going though, which suggests that either they work or he thinks they do.

Oh, man, I would kill to possess the Orb of Time. (a tangible device that allows some time travel)

Wait a minute. Willing to kill to posses a holy relic is one of the things that makes religion undesirable.
One of the other things making it undesirable is the type of sanctimoniousness embodied in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine character known as Kai Wynn ( a condescending bitch played perfectly by Louise Fletcher)
