Who is Maidson Paxton, don’t recall her name coming up in this case?
She is Amanda's friend, the one who moved to Italy so that Amanda would always have a visitor when family could not be there. If I remember correctly she also gave character testimony at the Massei trial. She was part of the Seattle group of friends who couldn't believe the prosecution's sluttified description of Amanda...
Rather than the Foxy Knoxy vixen manipulator of men, Paxton knew Knox to be a little bit of a "dork" who wore mismatched socks and would go out of her way to help people on the street. While not at all expecting Knox to be accused of murder, Paxton stated that the worst she ever thought the Italian sojourn would result in was Knox having her heart broken because of her inexperience in relationships.
Paxton is one of the heroes of this story, in my estimation. I'm not sure there is a better story of friendship and loyalty. If I had a friend like either Paxton, or for that matter Raffaele Sollecito, I would consider myself the luckiest man on the planet. Raffaele Sollecito simply would not lie, and risked 25 years in the slammer for it. Paxton dropped everything so that a friend would not suffer alone in prison in a foreign country.
I guess it's one thing for the guilters to slag Raffaele as "knife boy". I cannot remember the worst of it, but the guilters also cut into Madison Paxton as some sort of deviant. IIRC correctly, she was the first one to point out that "Foxy Knoxy" was an invention of old men with dirty minds; a sluttified image of a woman who in reality wore mismatched socks...
She was right.
