Harassment? What are you talking about? You have freedom of religion in America and we have freedom of expression. You can worship any god you wish. I can speak out against any theology I want.

Intimacy/sexual desire, is a human fundamental to well being. Some people are happy to live alone. I'm not and I don't want anyone to tell me that I can't live with my wife or that I can't have sex with her. That's none of your business. If I were gay it still would be none of your business.

It makes me wonder if there is hope the world will ever rise above it's hatred for it's own.

I have a lot of Mormon family and while someone of them share various degrees of bigotry, not all of them do, most of the anti-gay sentiments I run into in the Mormon community are not nearly this vile.

There was a time when many Christians found Mormon's perverse with their many wives. Ironic that there are Mormons who now sit in their ivory tower judging people they have never met. Loving another person isn't perverse. And what consenting adults do in the privacy of their bedrooms is their business and no one else.
 
What does it feel like to know that the leaders of your religion keep secrets? How do you know they aren't keeping secrets from you too? Do you ever consider that they may be lying to you?

Apparently families are forever.... unless your children is gay and then Mormons toss them into the street where they become prostitutes, are often beaten and killed or infected with aids.

I think that's the strangest and saddest part of it. There's a good chance that if the Salt Lake church had just persevered, they could get recognition of plural marriage by now by piggybacking onto the gay marriage movement and/or the general sexual revolution of the last few decades.

Instead, the church has chosen to do exactly what was done to it, side with the Victorian moralists who persecuted it, and persecute others who want anything different. It's like institutional Stockholm syndrome or something.

What possible benefit does 'god' derive form sending shock troops to my bedroom? Is 'god' that bored?

Why is what my partner and I do with each other (to each other), in the privacy of our bedroom, out here in the woods, more important that all the children who are starving, all the people who are dying of cancer, all of the oppressed and downtrodden? What a vile and perverse creature is this 'god'!

Rand, this is already happening... Kindergarden children are even being taught they can choose the gender they wish to be. Perhaps yourself and other posters here are not aware of the Radical Homosexual Agenda. Christian preachers have already been fined and gaoled for "discriminating" by teaching the word of God regarding homosexual activity. Adoption agencies have been legally forced to close for refusing to facilitate adoption of the children in their care to same sex couples. Bakers / shop keepers who refuse to provide wedding cakes and rainbow cakes for same sex celebrations, providers of other wedding services, providers of accommodations... have been taken to court, fined, and had their businesses closed. On the agenda is an attempt to force Christian Churches to preform same sex marriages or take the consequences of refusing to do so. These are the real agendas of the push for same sex marriage and just some examples of how law can be used under the guise of "discrimination".

They are reality. Living in ignorance of what is happening in law and the courts does not make the consequences go away.

Hmm... I'm straight. I've knowingly met very few gay people and have no gay friends. Strangely I've never seen any of this "homosexual agenda". The only agenda I've seen is by the likes of the LDS to systematically marginalize and ostracize a group of people just because they're different. To me that's practically evil.

Astreja, I am sorry, but If you wish to abide by Eternal Law you will choose celibacy. Often the truthful answer is not what the seeker wants to hear nor is willing to accept. Our Heavenly Father does not reveal all to us, and to those who reject what He has revealed, even less is given. As eternal beings it is not our choice whether we continue to exist for eternity or not... our choice lies only in determining the conditions of our existance. There are many degrees of "salvation" from the lowest to the highest. James E.Talmage page 21 in his book Great Apostasy states: "The Father of souls has endowed His children with the divine birthright of free agency; He does not and will not control them by arbitrary force; He impels no man toward sin; He compels none to righteousness. Unto man has been given freedom to act for himself; and, associated with this independence, is the fact of strict responsibility and the assurance of individual accountability."
