How can we find understanding and meaning if good god doesn't open our minds to understanding and meaning?
Does he want us to stay in ignorance? Will he punish us later because of it?
From Jesus The Christ by James E. Talmage:
"It was not His design that the souls of mankind be lost; on the contrary it was and is His work and glory, “to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.” Nevertheless He saw the evil into which His children would assuredly fall; and with infinite love and mercy did He ordain means of averting the dire effect, provided the transgressor would elect to avail himself thereof. "

Further to the above:
"In accordance with the plan adopted in the council of the Gods, man was created as an embodied spirit; his tabernacle of flesh was composed of the elements of earth.d He was given commandment and law, and was free to obey or disobey—with the just and inevitable condition that he should enjoy or suffer the natural results of his choice."

But this forum is a public place, Janadele, not your personal website. All ideas are fair game for criticism, no matter what the idea is or how much value it holds for any particular Forum member. After the initial skeptical reception, why continue to post the material when it didn't receive an uncritical reaction?
Astreja, this is but one thread amongst the multitude :)

Janadele, in no thread here is anyone expected to put any value on a proven hoax, even on your insistence or skyrider44's evasive posts.

The idea that Smith was anything but a conman when he palmed off the BoA as dinkum still hasn't been refuted here.
Janadele's embarrassingly bad links and skyrider44's attempts to divert the conversation haven't changed the fraudulent nature of the BoA.

Now it seems you are asking people to stop asking hard questions.
Perhaps this is not the place for you?
It seems you'd be happier to post on a forum where others don't challenge your ideas and demand evidence and rational debate.

I hope skyrider is OK; his recent posts have been very odd.

Janadele, why should we accept James E. Talmage a any kind of authority? Does he speak for or on behalf of your god, and if so how could this be tested?

What if he's mistaken about the mind and will of your god?

Are you enjoying the results of your choice?

Jesus The Christ by James E. Talmage an Apostle, Seer and Revelator of the Lord, was written by inspiration within the walls of the Salt Lake Temple, published and endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and approved by the First Presidency.
One can learn the wonders and meaning of life within it's pages.

Do you have any opinions of your own?

The founder of this church being a proven fraudster, this is not so much a recommendation as a huge warning flag with "don't believe a word of this" emblazoned upon it.

One can learn one man's wild guesses as to the wonders and meaning of life within its pages. For more reliable insights, try any modern encyclopedia.

But this is the one which shows LDS and some Mormons in such a bad light. :) Thank you for bringing it to the attention of so many people. I had no idea about the fraudulent nature of LDS beginnings but I do now. Seriously, I thought it was just another version of Christianity with some of its own quirks like they all have.

My wife was actually considering joining because a few of her friends are Mormons. Her friends are quite nice but there's no way Mrs. Timbo will be joining a cult based on lies and outright fraud now. I've been keeping her informed about the way this "discussion" has gone and shown her skyrider44's and your behavior and methods.

Of course, we all just saw a little snippet of what, from the first opening scene, was clearly the Salt Lake Temple. Assuming that was, in fact, where the rest of it was filmed, we all now know what the inside of the temple looks like and what goes on there, so I doubt anyone finds anything impressive about the place. To be honest, I was disappointed in the celestial room, as I'd imagined something far more beautiful from the way it's played up in church.

Why would any of us care about anything written in a silly book about a religion based on an inept fraud, no matter where it was written or if the heads of the false religion endorse it?
