Yes, how quickly those strawmen fell!

Point out how Ron Lindsey slymed women, called them bitches, or suggested a good raping was educational. Or, Richard Dawkins, or Justin Vacula, or the other old white men A+/FTB insists on branding as "other" like the KKK brands African/Americans.

Try, just for a moment, to view all this from a third person perspective.

Did I mention those names in my post? No.

If I post a similar post over at PZs I'll also get a similar response with dead porcupines attached.

Like any cult any sign of not agreeing fully with the doctrine brings instant attack.:D

You've missed my point. The FTB and A+ bullies have grouped terrific people into a hated "other" category with anonymous Internet trolls. How about Harreit Hall? For wearing a T-shirt that said "I feel safe and welcome at TAM" she's been vilified and grouped with the "you should be raped" trolls.

Why are these people so unreflective about their prejudice? Does really nothing matter but defending your tribe at all costs?

Try a less fallacious argument and you might see a different outcome...or actually spend some time reading pharyngula...from back before EG.

or stick with straw, I suppose, whatever floats your boat.
 
Meanwhile, back at the rebel headquarters, it seems they're at a loss for subject matter to post on at A+ Forums. They are at an all-time low on their rolling seven-day average.... 47 posts a day. That's a new post every thirty-something minutes.

PZ or Becky better pick a new fight with someone. Or they may have to let in some bannable people so they can dogpile. Those are the only times in the past few months when they've gone over a hundred posts a day.

Quints and Apostate certainly did and do not agree with the doctrine, let alone "fully".

They of course were treated respectfully, because unlike you, they brought actual cogent arguments to the table. I miss them.

The comparison with what you bring to the table, I leave to you.

the piece was about twitter not doing enough to combat rape threats with rebecca watson as an example. it showed her "guys dont do that" video then said that this led to torrents of online harrasment and threats.

took me by surprise a bit. it will be on iplayer if you can watch.

It said "blogger Rebecca Watson" had a " bad experience" and showed a short clip of her "guys don't so that" vid.
Then moved to the creator of the "Block Bot", connected with Atheism+

Hmm? Anyone running their own forums know about phpBB software? I've been puzzled how they could show, say 30 posts in the post count over seven or eight hours yesterday - the 30th for me - but I could only see seven or eight posts with that date.

I just logged on - curious if they'd caught themselves on the news show - and noted the post count was at ...488. When I went back to the index screen it was at ...489. And while their clock shows 12:25 on the 31st, there are no posts from the 31st in the forums.

Is the forum software counting the posts in the sooper sekret thread? That would explain the anomaly. There are days when there's more activity in the private forums than in the main!

eta: their clock is set to GMT, evidently, so I happened to log on just a few minutes into the calendar day so was able to spot this. (it's 7:30 a.m. in Thailand and I'm always up this early).

Okay, my curiosity was piqued when I noted the above so I actually tracked the first twelve hours 00:01 to 12:00 GMT of 31 July 2013. As I said, I just happened to notice this in the first hour, but I was wondering if it's a pattern.

Opening Counter: 87488 posts
12:00:01 GMT 87515

Total would seem to be 27 new posts in 12 hours. (For them, that's kind of average lately as they are hovering between 2 and 3 posts an hour.)

But here's the beauty part.... visible to your average member.... seven (7) posts. SEVEN!!! That's one new and exciting and informative post every hour and twenty-five minutes!

Invisible to all but the Cool Kids' Table? 20 posts! That is correct - over 70% of the posts are in private among the in crowd. How must it feel to be one of the dupes who fell for their inclusionary b.s.? It's a safe space for a select few individuals. You can watch the activity on the forum index page and see the royalty logging on, see the total posts go up, but see no posts visible to the lower classmen.

ETA: It's now 75% hidden posts. The overall count went up one post, but nothing's shown up in the last fifteen minutes on the public wall of the index, so it's another uber sensitive social justice message that y'all can't be trusted with, you peons!
