Jane Harman’s father was a Nazi refugee.
Her father Dr. Adolph N. Lakes was born in Poland moved to Germany and graduated from medical school in 1935. Then he and his wife came to the United States. How can this be? I thought Jews were an oppressed minority in Germany during this period.

Thank you for starting this thread, MaGZ. This forum would miss out on so many important facets of life if it weren't for your presence.

What's your point, aside from the one on your hood?

You seem to be implying if jews were an oppressed minority in 1935 germany they couldn't have left.

This is an argument so bad only a neo-nazi and/or troll could make it  I suspect you are both.

No idea neither, but I'm willing to bet she's Jewish and probably one of the secret cabal that run the world, secretly.

And presumably the fact that she moved to America in 1935 or studied medicine is proof that the Holocaust never happened.

If you want to know about Jane Harman's father,

then I suggest that you ask Jane Harman about her father.

Jane Harman’s father was a Nazi refugee. Her father Dr. Adolph N. Lakes was born in Poland [in 1911] moved to Germany [as an infant] and graduated from medical school in 1935 [or 1934 in Cologne, right?]. Then he and his wife came to the United States. How can this be?
A quick glance online shows you are correct - This can't be. Jane Harman's parents didn't marry until 1943. Her mother never lived in Germany. They didn't come over to the United States together. Jane Harman's maternal grandparents came directly from Russia to the U.S.. Jane Harman's parents met in the U.S. and this is where Jane herself was born, in 1945.

You've either picked up faulty info somewhere or you've made mistakes in summarising it here. There is no reason why Jane Harman can't be President of the United States one day. Are you trying to prevent this or simply trying to write her biography, as an admirer? [History, Literature or the Arts - which category are you aiming for this time...?]

1935 oppression was so-so. It got worse, much worse, later.

ETA: I thought pretty much everybody knew that.

Oh... but if what we all knew turned out to be not true at all. What then ...? While thoroughly researching the genealogical records of the Harman family it must have hit MagZ like a lightning bolt - papers like the Gesetz gegen die Überfüllung deutscher Schulen und Hochschulen have to be forgeries. What other explanation is there? Surely these words were never put in to effect. He studied medicine. Then left. In 1935. How can that be?

There is, of course a third option there. Whole cloth............
