I don't understand the conservative position here. They want to give these guys the death penalty, but they don't want to let them starve themselves to death.
I say **** em. Let them starve themselves. Less money going into that prison the better.
Feed them McDonald's only. It'll be like Supersize Me X 100.

When you post something like this do you really believe that is the reason. Is everything about race? They have brown skin, so who cares, right?

So... allow them to starve themselves to death?
They won't starve themselves to death if the force feeding is stopped. Suicide is a major sin in Islam.
.... and in catholizism. And yet in 1981 10 IRA Hungerstrikers died.

Bobby Sands was divorced.
Let me apply some logic here.
If they all starved themselves, they'd all be dead, and we could close Gitmo and President Obama could then keep that campaign promise from 2008.
Not sure I understand the force feeding.
Because they don't want them dead.
Now politically one could be a cynical and point out that the administration just doesn't want the deaths to be levearged against them and figure the force feeding is a better solution. Or they could actually want to find a way to get Guantanamo prisoners sent home or tried some other way in the spirit of the promise. It could be that there are actual moral choices trying to be made in addition to political considerations.
Personally I just think they should all be either tried or sent back unless they were actually picked up as POWs. Kill those that fight again in the field. I know that puts American lives at risk again.
It's not like we've had to detain indefinitely Nazis, or Japanese, or Confederates who were captured in the battlefield. Robert E. Lee betrayed the Constitution he swore to protect then oversaw the deaths of more US soldiers than Hitler and Tojo put together, and we let him walk. We've had no guarantees about recidivism before when we've released POWs before.
Yeah, but I don't think anyone expected R E Lee to sidle off, pick up a musket and start a terrorist campaign. Letting him go was akin to letting Hirohito off the hook: it could reasonably be expected to further peaceful reconciliation. Letting a bunch of likely jihadis out may not be as likely to further the cause of peace.
FWIW, I'm against force feeding. If they want to starve, we should respect their wishes.
Why yes it is. It's the thaiboxerken meme. Anything/everything from the right or disagreeable is caused by racism. When you post something like this do you really believe that is the reason. Is everything about race?
Part II of the meme is that all problems boils down to Bush.I don't understand this post. Is it George Bush or some other conservative that is force feeding them?

The earliest known case of force-feeding prisoners in Guantanamo Bay occurred in early 2002 when two hunger strikers were hospitalized for malnutrition.

The US is forcefeeding their victims at guantanamo. First under Bush, now under Obama.
Now what role does race play concerning the selection of victims? We've had british, canadian and german (off the top of my head) nationals at guantanamo, so it can't be nationality.
The only other thing they have in common is religion and that most of them are kinda brown.
So it's either a religious torture camp or a racial torture camp. Take your pick.
