The state of FL v. George Zimmerman

Prosecutor pointing out lie after lie GZ was caught in. In the walk through, GZ says TM turned down Twin Tree Lane, then a minute later says he didn't know the street name.
How is that a lie? He couldn't have learned the street name between the incident and then?

These "lies" BDLR points out just further hilites the weakness of his case.

Really? You need that explained?

Seems unlikely, considering how long GZ already lived in that area... and his role as "watch captain" of the local NW... and his seeming inability to learn the 3 street names during that time.

Right.....

This the straddling the line of what's tolerable. If you care to follow up this discussion, follow WildCat and Natural Born Skeptic's lead and discuss it in the moderated thread. Thank you.

Apparently time does not exist in BDLR's universe, and either everything happened at the same moment or it didn't happen at all.

Isn't that the order knowledge often works in, first you don't know something, and then you learn it? Why would that be a lie?

Or is this just another "I insist he's lying because I think he knew it I refuse to believe he didn't" issue?

What makes you think that GZ suddenly capable of learning street names while he was very much unable to do so earlier?

Right.....
Answered in the other thread so as not to get the mods excited.

More lies from BDLR, the defense never claimed the injuries sustained were life threatening.

In case it wasn't mentioned before, BDLR has a powerpoint presentation that goes along with his closing statement. He just skipped over a bunch of slides outlining the jury instructions, not sure why. Perhaps becuase MOM objected earlier, and JDN told the jury she would be issuing the legal instructions.

[snipped rude opinion that belongs in the other thread]
Timing, it's all about the timing. GZ never went to find the TTL street name, he went to the other street to find an address.

In BDLR's Powerpoint, it mentions that GZ is "MMA-trained." I thought it was established that GZ was only a "Point Five" and only doing punching and kicking drills with a bag, and not other people.

I don't have a clue about a lot of the street names around my house. Many other people pointed out that they don't either in the long thread on the issue, where numerous "he's got to be lying" folk evidently find it inconceivable that some people don't memorize nor pay attention to all the street names in their neighborhood.

However if on the night that changed my life forever I went to look for a street name, and then got attacked and shot someone, and then had to go back there to perform reenactments, I'd damn sure remember it after that.

It's just more conspiratorial grasping at straws, nothing unique about not knowing a street name, and then learning it.

If memory serves me correctly he also said he was looking for a street sign. Either way, there's nothing particularly unusual that he would not know it that night, but would be the time he walked the police through it. If that was me, I'd have revisited that area and walked though it in my mind endlessly before walking the police through it. Damn straight I'd know the street name by the time I walked the police through.

BDLR is leaning heavily on all the prosecutor dirty tricks that have put so many innocent people in prison, only to be exonerated years later through DNA evidence.

Done. Court is in recess until 8:30 tomorrow.

So the defense will be presenting at 8:30? Or do they have any procedural matters to deal with beforehand?

The case could be in the hands of the jury by tomorrow afternoon.

Effective prosecution: articulate a cogent theory of guilt, and support that theory with enough evidence to meet the burden of "beyond a reasonable guilt".

Does anybody actually think the state made an honest effort to do that?

IMO, they put all their effort into attempting to poke holes in the defense's case. They want the jury to convict Zimmerman based on their (hoped for) distrust and dislike of him.
