A once a week event in Iraq these days, car bomb ... I guess Egypt just isn't used to the cost of democracy yet.30 people dead
I put those men at the top of my list of "what it means to be a man" in any culture. Well done to them!Male protesters are now forming human chains around the female protesters to avoid more attacks. Sad that this is necessary.
No good choices, so make the best of a bad situation is what can be done, in the near term.Yes. Things might still be a lot worse now that the military has kicked Morsi out of power. But things definitely would be a whole lot worse if they hadn't.
The Egyptian military seems to have become the default check against anti-democratic factions taking over.
There is footage on Youtube of the assault on the Dutch lady, if you're in the mood to get whipped up into a blood-boiling rage.

Still there have been over 100 reported attacks in the last two weeks of protests.
In one article it was mentioned that the Dutch lady was an intern.
I'm not blaming the victim, and I don't know for which organisation she was working, but WTF were these people thinking when they sent a young attractive woman into the gang-rape mosh-pit?
Especially with well know incidents of reporters being attacked.
I think that and I'm not a Presstard.
Arabs aren't fit for democracy.
They even raped our Ambassador Stevens in Libya.

(CNN) -- Worsening violence amid anti-government protests in Egypt has led western governments to step up their travel advice.
Yesterday, at least 23 people were killed, and hundreds injured, in clashes between supporters and opponents of Egyptian President Mohamed Morsy at Cairo University.
Since then, the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office is recommending "against all but essential travel to Egypt" except certain coastal resorts, where unrest is less evident.
Previously, the FCO advised travelers only to steer clear of "all demonstrations and large gatherings" within the country.
The U.S. State Department continues to advise against all "non-essential" travel to or within Egypt.
Tourism minister quits
Egypt's tourism industry suffered another blow Monday with the resignation of the country's tourism minister, Hisham Zazour.
Zazour handed in his resignation along with five other ministers, including the foreign minister, over the violence sweeping the country.
The present crisis was the last straw for a man with one of the toughest jobs in tourism. He had threatened to quit last month over the appointment as Luxor governor of a member of a political group associated with a massacre in the city 15 years ago that killed 58 tourists.
CAIRO — Egyptian soldiers opened fire on hundreds of unarmed supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsi early Monday as they were praying before dawn outside the facility where he is believed to be detained, dozens of witnesses said.
At least 43 civilians were killed, all or most of them shot, and more than 300 wounded, doctors and health officials said. Security officials said one police officer died as well.
The attack marked a sharp escalation in the confrontation between the generals who forced out the president and his Islamist supporters in the streets.
I got a bad feeling this won't end well.
At Least 43 Die as Soldiers Said to Open Fire on Morsi Backers
The forming of an interim government isn't working out as the Islamists are not on board with the choice of leaders.
And the violence is escalating.
That is bad combination.
They better get the MB back in the political process and release Morsi & Co if they want to keep selling this as "not a military coup".

Congratulations on reading it.And I should care what Clownhall has to say about the First Fitna embodying Islam while the Inquisition was just an "aberration" in Christianity (while repeating the false claim that the person shown in the Syrian video was a priest as well as citing the ******** website religionofpeace.com) because...why, exactly?
Congratulations on reading it.![]()
Even if it's the case that the Brotherhood seeded armed gunmen among the worshippers (which, frankly, would not surprise me, given the Brotherhood), that kind of response by the army portends very very bad things.
I was quite optimistic until I heard of the arrests. If it looks like a military coup, and it walks like a military coup ..They better get the MB back in the political process and release Morsi & Co if they want to keep selling this as "not a military coup".
