Why do they shove it up? They should get experienced medical professionals to do it more gently and with proper decorum. It seems unnecessarily harsh to shove it when a well-lubricated, slow insertion is called for. Where do they get these ultra-sound techs, schools for auto-mechanics?

If someone is at Planned Parenthood to get birth control pills I can see the logic of the pregnancy test. For one thing why not have the information? If a woman doesn't want a baby wouldn't she be better off knowing if she's already pregnant? I could be wrong but I don't think this is a requirement the hard right dreamed up. It seems pretty practical.

And re: any other medication. There are potential consequences giving certain drugs to women who may become pregnant. Ditto certain X-rays. It's just not the case with men.

It's a medical procedure. If the doctor thinks its important for the health and well-being of the mother then I'm fine with it. If it's because politicians want to make it harder on women to get abortions then **** that.

If it is medically important to do a pg test, the doctor will do it. If it is not necessary, then doing it anyway is a waste of resources.

IOW, the law makes no sense* and is unnecessary. Actually, what I think is more interesting is the implications regarding doctors. Apparently, the GOP does not trust doctors to do what is medically appropriate.
