Fox News: Mr. Rogers was evil

So let me understand:

1. It wasn't "Fox News", it was a specific opinion talk show that airs on that channel.

2. There was no consensus that Mr. Rogers was "evil".

3. The idea that Mr. Rogers was mooted, probably tongue in cheek, and was laughed off by the participants.

4. The much milder idea that an overabundance of praise can have a negative effect on child development was also mooted.

5. There was no consensus on this either; but while opinions varied, most (all?) of the participants leaned towards the conclusion that overabundance of praise was, in fact, a problem.

6. The individual participant who actually mentioned Mr. Rogers by name has long since retracted his statement.

7. Old clip is old.

Is that about right?

Except that you forgot to add that this particular show is hosted by mouth-breathing imbeciles who routinely say mind-numbingly stupid things.

Forgot to add that Fox opinion shows, in general, say mind-numbing, stupid things.

Was this particular episode routine?

What, exactly, is mind-numbingly stupid about the idea that an overabundance of praise might have a negative impact on child development?

Can you cite any specific statement that was mind-numbingly stupid, in this particular episode, in context and in light of the later retraction (linked above)?

Right now your analysis seems kind of circular: We know this is mind-numbingly stupid, because they routinely say mind-numbingly stupid things. We know they say mind-numbingly stupid things, because they said this particular mind-numbingly stupid thing.

Only, it looks like they didn't say this particular mind-numbingly stupid thing. Suddenly your entire concept of Fox and Friends seems to be unreliable, if not outright wrong.

But, whatever. Maybe you can find other mind-numbingly stupid things that have been said in other episodes. What have you contributed to the discussion of this episode? So far, only "the facts are wrong because Fox."

Thus ever skepticism in politics.

Serious question: Have you ever watched Fox and Friends?

The Fox Protection League will be along shortly to castigate you.

After they look up "castigate" to make sure it's not gay or something.

:D

I just thank FSM Fox "News" is here and has the courage to bring issues like this to light. I mean, who can forget their ground-breaking story of exposing how The Muppets were brainwashing America's kids?

Do you have anything worthwhile to say about the topic or are you only able to blurt out childish platitudes?

Yes, yes in fact I do.

I posted it six years ago when this was first aired.

Way to take a strong stand though, not exactly timely, but I'm fairly confident that the 2008 Fox News ratings are going to take a hit thanks to your stand.

/the topic is idiotic, and your "argument" is *********** hilarious.
//the "topic," lolz

The facts aren't wrong because Fox says them. Fox says those facts because those facts are wrong. They're the perfect embodiment of "I reject your reality and substitute my own."

Confirmation bias. We all strive against it, and some of us fail. This time it's you. I will admit at times it's been I.

Mumble, I missed the date on that. Sorry.

Having known the guy, the "joke" isn't funny.

I find the irony of you saying the above in defense of a "Fox and Friends" pile of mendacity to be highly entertaining.

Actually, one of my professors in grad school was a child actor on the show. According to him, Fred was a bit of a prick.

I simply refuse to believe that. Your professor probably forgot that he was a snotty little brat at the time, and was in no position to judge.
