The state of FL v. George Zimmerman

Back on topic, I was following Ms. Jeantel until she was hiding in the closet, lying about how Martin confronted Zimmerman.

Bernie would like to continue the questioning. West says he needs a few additional hours.
Ms. Jeantel seems displeased when she hears this.
Court in recess, continued at 9:00 AM in the morning.

Whatever side you are on Ms Jeantel is hard work! I think it is a shame she does not have more respect for the legal process.

I would just like to make note that one of the witnesses said the very same thing as Zimmerman. Given the weather, she thought it was weird to hear people outside.

Yup. I think there are 3 of those statements in the police reports. It was discussed in the other thread.

I think that would be the fault of the prosecution. They should have prepared her better to understand the process and the fact that she would be challenged by defense lawyers.

I believe that the prosecution is limited in what they can do with a witness or else it becomes tampering or coaching.

When Don West read back her own deposition to her, he ended it with something very close to this:

"It could've been Trayvon... but you know it's not."

Someone help me out here if I misheard this or misunderstood this. Pretty big if she said that.

Good - If we had someome locally that called 911 for service that many times, they'd be on the crank list.

You're falling for a meme. Zimmerman called for service 5 times in the last 6 months in a neighborhood that is undisputed to have a worsening crime problem. In fact, Wendy Dorival who is the SPD NW coordinator reviewed his calls and asserted that the behaviors he describe were the behaviors that SPD wanted reported. Sean, the NEN dispatcher that took his call, agreed.

Your quote is accurate.

18:00 is a good-enough start. Audio doesn't sych well.

16:00 is the first dust up about continuing testimony of Thursday. The second is near the end of the video directly before the jury was released for the day.

In the context, it sounds like she was saying to the questioner "You know it's not" to mean "You believe it's not," or "You think it's not." She's already said that she herself isn't sure it's Trayvon, but that it could be. She's pretty clearly not the most articulate person in the world, but I don't think she was telling the questioner that he's right.
