Black Hole Cluster in Andromeda-Thousands Flee!!

Great, Andromeda’s chalk full of black holes and headed this way, only about 4 billion years left to get the heck out of dodge.
I'll add it on my phone's agenda for in four billion years:

1. Find fresh hydrogen supply for the sun
2. Dodge Andromedan black holes

I am told that as the galaxy gets nearer, it will not get any brighter, it will just get bigger. The good news is that our sun and solar system is likely to carry on as normal even when the two galaxies collide. The big danger is that another sun gets too close to us. The chances of that happening are remote. The sky during the collision could change a lot.

I wonder of the collateral effects from increased supernovae and neutron star collisions resulting in gamma ray bursts.

The bad news is that the sun is getting brighter, about 10% increase in luminosity every billion years. So in about a billion or so years the Earth surface is projected to be too hot to sustain liquid water.

Sung to the tune of “Hitchin' a Ride” by Vanity Fair

The sun heats up, a star goes by
We’re still on Erath and here am I
Hitchin' a ride, hitchin' a ride
Gotta get us some new morning light

Andromeda came from far away
Old Sol’s dying and we just can’t stay
Hitchin' a ride, hitchin' a ride
Need a new star so we don’t get fried

Ride, ride, ride, hitchin' a ride
Ride, ride, ride, hitchin' a ride

We said goodbye to the Milkyway
A blackhole missed us just the other day
Hitchin' a ride, hitchin' a ride
Gotta get a home at a new star’s side

Ride, ride, ride, hitchin' a ride
Ride, ride, ride, hitchin' a ride

The sun puffs up, a star goes by
Oh, won't some galaxy come and help a guy?
Hitchin' a ride, hitchin' a ride
Been way too long since we’ve been outside

Ride, ride, ride, hitchin' a ride
Ride, ride, ride, hitchin' a ride

Ride, ride, ride, hitchin' a ride
Ride, ride, ride, hitchin' a ride

Ride, ride
Ride, ride
Ride, ride
Ride, ride
