Glenn Beck sitting on explosive story:

Nothing. At least, not so far...Beck either dropped his "explosive story" completely, or it turned out he was talking about the decidedly non-explosive revelation that 70 House Republicans revolting against comprehensive immigration reform.

Meanwhile, rumors are flying on looney conspiracy websites that the "explosive story" is that Obama used the NSA to blackmail Chief Justice Roberts into supporting Obamacare.
Obviously, whatever the story was supposed to be it wasn't vetted when Beck first made his announcement. That's irresponsible to say the least. But if I had to guess he will net a tidy profit from crying wolf, again.

Vetted? I don't think Beck is familiar with that word.

Beck, the Mad Prophet of the airways. Exposing the Saudis too. I bet during his explosive announcement he gets assassinated in front of a live audience by a domestic terrorist group.

Which includes Tim Robbins.

(Edited to add: Tim Robbins has denied being the guy who looked exactly like Tim Robbins in "Network." But Tim Robbins, I suspect, is no fan of Beck.)

Yesterday he said within 24 hours. That time is long gone of course. Now he is saying in the next 24 - 36 hours.

Hang in their kids. Beck said you will be called to action. I'm so excited I could just go lay down and take a nap. In fact, that's exactly what I'm going to do.

I have it on good authority that he's finally found the punchline to that old joke: "How do you keep an idiot in suspense?"

'On his radio program this morning, Glenn Beck was interviewing Rep. Steve King and mentioned that, on Monday, Sen. Mike Lee will appear on the program to discuss the theory that Chief Justice John Roberts was "pressured" into ruling in favor of health care reform, possibly through the use of information gathered by the NSA's PRISM surveillance program.'

Seriously.

Oooookaaaaayyyyyy.... Maybe Glen Beck needs to get a room with Karl McIntyre?

He specifically said today that that's what it was.

:) And make a living while doing it. It's good work if you can get it (and you are an unethical creep).

Ooh, this is exciting--he'll be speaking at the U.S. Capitol this Wednesday.

This Wednesday, June 19, in Washington D.C. there will be an open forum that will feature “border security, anti-amnesty members of Congress.” The debate is slated for 9AM to 12PM and then again from 2PM to 5PM. In between, members of Congress will join with an already-planned Tea Party rally against the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of conservative organizations. Glenn will be joining the event and speaking at noon.
“There are 70 Republicans now in congress that we sent there,” Glenn said. “They’re standing up this week and they’re about to be slaughtered.”
He's going to slaughter Republicans?

It’s costing me a fortune to be able to get the TV and everybody up there to be able to ‑‑ to be able to just cover it, let alone speak up there.
HE'S A PHILANTHROPIST. I'm "sure" he doesn't stand to make any money on this stunt.

There are many things I don’t believe in anymore, and Washington is one of them. And I despise that city now. Because it has just become a symbol of corruption to me, a symbol of grotesque growth, where the rest of us are suffering in the rest of the country.
It's just now become a symbol of corruption to him? I don't know, I think he's really going out on a limb there making the reckless claim that there's corruption in our nation's capitol.

Our country is at stake.
Our country is about to crumble, and there's only one man who can stop it.

I thought of this last week. Somebody said… about Martin Luther King. And they said, what about Martin Luther King’s lifestyle? Because Martin Luther King, he was dicey with women and everything else. Yeah, he was. That shows you how desperate God gets sometimes.

wtf

Demagogue

A demagogue /ˈdɛməɡɒɡ/ or rabble-rouser is a political leader in a democracy who appeals to the emotions, prejudices, and ignorance of the population in order to gain power and promote political motives. Demagogues usually oppose deliberation and advocate immediate, violent action to address a national crisis; they accuse moderate and thoughtful opponents of weakness. Demagogues have appeared in democracies since ancient Athens. They exploit a fundamental weakness in democracy: because ultimate power is held by the people, nothing stops the people from giving that power to someone who appeals to the lowest common denominator of a large segment of the population.

The "explosive story that's going to take down the whole power structure"?

It's a conspiracy theory about Robert's vote on Obamacare?

No - it's that a number of House Republicans are opposing immigration reform. I don't believe Beck is waving the Robert conspiracy banner yet (could be mistaken).

Check out the update under the story. He's saying he still has an explosive scoop but now it won't be in the next 24 hours. First is trying to find a way to protect the whistleblower.

So it may have something to do with PRISM, I don't know.

Well, it will be if it isn't, anything in support of white supremacist fascism seems to be the Beck rule.

Bacon of course - and please pass the mayo!!

Hope they don't go down for a third time before my popcorn pops.

Btw, anyone ever hear the George Carlin routine about Rush Limbaugh? What Limbaugh should substitute for his cigar?
