AE911Truth has renamed its "Operation Tip the Planet" campaign into "ReThink911". The goal is to raise money and run ads (billboards, I think) in September with that money.
To that end:
Parallel to the fundraising, they have raised matching funds - those were above $100,000 in March, and at $300,000 now.
The fundraising page has so far raised $300,796 - $286,000 of those (95%) from three moire or less anonymous sources, $14,796 from about 140 individual donors. The three big donations were:
Here is what they'r gonna do (from the March 15 announcement):
They pretend to be focussing on selected cities, have set up almost 68 city teams, and hope to raise between $1,000 and 10,000 per city. But in reality, only 9 of these city teams have reached any donations at all, most only 1 donation, for a total of $1,711.
Looking at the proposed ad, they are convinced that they'll reach 2,000 A&E signatures by September. They are at 1,928 right now, and have in recent months received 20 or less new actual A&E signatures. With three full months to go before September, that might be a close call, considering that the summer months June, July and August have been the slowest in many years, and on average.
To that end:
- They set up a fundraising page at Fundly.com im mid-March.
- Called on members to draft ads on March 15
- Had them vote on all entries on April 01
- Had them vote on the top 10 on April 09
- Picked an ad design that wasn't in the final vote today
- Richard Gage registered the domain "rethink911.org" on April 12th, 2013

- $176,000 from "ReThink911 Supporters"
- $60,000 from "AE Supporters" - perhaps this is what Gage's own AE911Truth budget throws in, from general income
- $50,000 from "Remember Building 7 Campaign" - this is most likely from the money that AE911Truth has held for "Building What", as a liability in their IRS Form 990s since 2010.
Here is what they'r gonna do (from the March 15 announcement):
