Looks like some's going to Indianapolis, In. for a memorial.
And they'll be escorted through another city on the way there.
So, if I head to Richmond, In., wait for the motorcade, and then jump out and try to rub it for a sample of microspheres
, think I'll get arrested?
In all seriousness: This gives yet more lie to the myth that all the steel was hurriedly shipped away so as to cover up a plot. Some is quite obviously still available. (Cue goalpost move about this not mattering because the "important pieces" (lol) were shipped off... seriously, who doesn't think that'd be the excuse given?)
Project 9/11 Indianapolis began early in 2010 by Greg Hess, a City of Indianapolis firefighter/paramedic as a grass roots effort to establish a permanent Memorial dedicated to those killed in the collapse of the World Trade Center, the crash of aircraft in Shanksville, Pennsylvania and the Pentagon.
In 2001, Greg was a member of Indiana Task Force 1, one of the first FEMA Search & Rescue teams to arrive at Ground Zero. INTF-1 spent 8 days in New York assisting the local agencies in the rescue and recovery efforts.
In 2010, Greg petitioned the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to obtain 2 steel beams from the World Trade Center.
Two beams from the wreckage of the World Trade Center in New York City are expected to come through Richmond this spring en route to Indianapolis, where a memorial is planned to those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
Indianapolis firefighter Greg Hess is leading the project in Indiana, called Project 9/11 Indianapolis, with plans to dedicate the memorial Sept. 11, 2011 -- the 10-year anniversary of the terrorist attack.
The beams will have an escort of police and fire vehicles and motorcycles from veterans organizations as they come through Richmond on the morning of April 9.
