Continuation Part 5: Discussion of the Amanda Knox/Raffaele Sollecito case

I'm more or less sitting at the side eating popcorn here, but even I know that the most rational scenario for this crime is that Rudy threw the rock some time around 8.30 or so. Broke window, making a bit of a noise. He lay low until it was clear there was nobody around who was going to come and see what the noise was about, then climbed in.

He picked up a few unconsidered trifles, stuff he could shove in his pockets to climb back down, and went to the toilet. It seems he had form in using toilets in the premises he burgled, and this is not such an uncommon trait in burglars as one might think. While he was in there, Meredith returned, which was about 9 o'clock. Rudy was not expecting that, having imagined that if party girls are out at 8.30 they are out for the night.

You can fill in the rest, but Meredith was dead by 9.30. Seems quite straightforward to me. Poor girl. And not LOL at all, really.

I'm quite surprised that someone who is so opinionated about the case hasn't figured out that much.

Rolfe.

your "figuring" out this case is just repeating what absurd things Knox claims and placing all blame on the black guy no matter how illogical. there is no evidence he game in through that window and it's not logical that he would have accessed the cottage through that window. none of the window class ended up in the garden below which seems illogical, it looks like the window was broken from the inside, and the exterior shutters prevented any glass from falling down to the ground below.

Why do you believe that? Seriously, I'm curious.

Please note that DNA does not have a time stamp on it. But on what forensic grounds would one say what you said? No other forensic expert (other than the Perugians and the Rome SP) would say what you said.

But still, I'm curious.

isn't it more likely that your dna would mix with your roommate if she bleed a lot (due to her murder) then if she bleed a little due to something routine in everyday living? More blood = more opportunity for mixing. look at probabilities.

gu-ede must have wanted to rape Fiol if he went through her clothes. I guess he was sniffing them. you think he would have gone throught Knox's clothes b/c the guys downstairs sai he was attracted to Knox. maybe he thought Fiol's clothes were Knox's? LOL

I know that I wouldn't be taking a no. 2 on the toilet in a house that I broke into, not knowing when anybody who lives there is going to return. doesn't seem logical to me. that points to him being there socially (he came with Knox)

I don't know if this has ever happened to you, but I can assure you it's not unusual. When in a state of heightened excitement, the body sometimes decides it needs to do this.

Slightly icky personal tale here. When I was younger, about Rudy's age in fact, I found this happening to me whenever I was at the library, trying to choose a book. All these books around me, all these exciting stories to immerse myself in, which ones to choose this week? I often had to use the facilities in the middle of the book-choosing process. (When some ned burned down the library and it re-opened temporarily in the YMCA where there was no loo, this was a little awkward.) So I do find it reasonable to imagine the same thing might have happened to Rudy as he looked at the contents of the house and decided what to pocket - or was figuring out where the rent money might be hidden.

Also, someone else posted details of at least one other of Rudy's burglaries where he had used the toilet in the premises. And an article about other similar cases, postulating that it might be something some burglars do to assert "ownership" of the property.

Don't we have positive evidence that Amanda was elsewhere between 9 and 9.30 anyway, which is when Meredith was murdered? I can't see the timeline where she could possibly have let Rudy in.

Rolfe.

IIRC Rep. 189 or 190 tested positive for blood by TMB. What would Guede have done in Filomena's room that would have left a trace?

he entered the room through the window, you think there would be opportunity for his skin to rub up against something and leave DNA behind. also no footprints or any debris from the yard in the room, which is odd if you are certain he came in through that window. absolutely no evidence of the grass being trampled outside or any scuff marks on the wall and a nail he would have certainly stepped on was not bent at all. I guess he flew in. :)

'Logical'? I hate the misuse of that word. It's 'logical' to take a dump when you need one. I thought you were some genius who could never be outwitted.

What time did Amanda invite Rudy in?

Thank you, but I have a brain of my own. It is perfectly logical he would have climbed in that window and no evidence that he didn't. Nobody looked for window glass in the garden, so you can't say there was none there.

What does it matter what colour Rudy was? Do you think there's some law of nature that says someone from the Ivory Coast can't commit burglary, sexual assault and murder?

Rolfe.

It's a while since I looked but I thought the cops got in by kicking in the glass in the door. Maybe I am misremembering and it sure would be dumb to bar the windows and leave the door as an easy means of access but still I'm sure that's how the cops got in on 02 Nov.

Yes, there was an hinged iron grate over the door that was swung open when the cop smashed the window on the door. Apparently they had a key for that but not the door itself.

Perhaps he left Reps. 189 and 190. How do you know that a nail would have snapped?

What time did Amanda invite Rudy in?

you've consistently said on here that the murder took place around 9 pm but it was much later than that, around 11.30 or so (when the screams were heard by neighbors).

why did Guede put Knox's lamp in Meridith's bedroom prior to the murder?

What really happened.

Meredith's wounds, along with the details of the crime scene, show that she was attacked by a man who held her from behind and wielded a small knife in his right hand.

The attack began in the corner of her room adjacent to her bed and nightstand, where he inflicted a puncture wound that caused the relatively minor bleeding visible in that area. This may have been an effort to force Meredith's submission, as Massei suggests. But she didn't submit. She tried to break free, and the attack spun across the room. She was on her knees, in front of her wardrobe, when he plunged the knife into the left side of her throat and tore a 2-inch gash by pulling upward and from left to right. He cut into her windpipe and incapacitated her more or less instantly. All of this probably happened in a minute or less.

At that point, he dragged her into the center of the room, tore her clothing off, and sexually assaulted her.

That is what the evidence shows. It is what really happened. Every skilled investigator who has studied the crime scene photos sees the same thing.

But the local cops over there didn't start by analyzing the crime scene. They're not suited for that kind of work. They leaned on Amanda Knox until they got her to sign a false statement.

It was the wrong approach, but it was what they knew how to do.

'They'?

But OK. That settles it. Thanks. He chose the upstairs probably already knowing the downstairs was not doable.

I asked what time Amanda invited him in. What's your answer?

You already proved your point about the lamp. It is a devastating piece of evidence.

why would they want to frame Knox, or force her to accuse her boss? they released her boss after he had an alibi, so why didnt' they lean on the guy who gave him an alibi? she never recanted her accusation and he sat in jail for 14 days. I think to believe Knox's lie about being forced to blame her boss is proof that you are easily duped. just not credible. all they did is ask her about her text to her boss in which she said "see you later", seems like a decent question to ask a roommate of a person who has been murdered. she at that point accused her boss, they never suggested he was guilty of the crime, just asked about the meaning of the text. you got to stop making Knox out as some kind of victim. no male could have gotten away with such a diva story.

you seem to believe in her innocence, despite that.

I have no idea what exact time Knox invited him in, but I think all 3 arrived together. I would think they were all there by 10 or so and then hung out socially probably smoking pot and then the murder happened later. you've wrongly asserted the murder happened around 9 pm and i'm not sure if meridith had even returned to the house by that point, so I find that curious. where are you getting that information?
