Re; the claims that the Special Forces were not prepared to go to Benghazi:

Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz of Utah used his time to ask how military personnel reacted to being told to stand-down after the attack on the Benghazi.

“How did the personnel react at being told to stand down?"

“They were furious,” Hicks said. “I can only say, well I will quote Lieutenant Colonel Gibson who said, ‘This is the first time in my career that a diplomat has more balls than somebody in the military.’”

As has already been pointed out to you in this thread, being willing to go is not the same thing as being prepared to go.

...which is merely the exact same thing he said back in his April testimony.

EDIT: And Chaffetz, by the way, was the same person who proudly voted to cut funding for embassy security.

Yep. Given the 8 years of silence as Bush sent thousands to their deaths based on lies this outrage is hard to swallow as anything other than political "gotcha".

The shill gambit is a type of ad hominem and poisoning the well wherein one party dismisses the other's arguments by proclaiming them to be on the payroll of some agency. It usually goes something like this:

Gowdy also peppered Hicks with questions about what kind of interaction he had with Rice before her appearances on the Sunday shows.

“Did she talk to you before she went on the five Sunday talk shows?” Gowdy asked.

“No, sir,” Hicks said.

“You were the highest ranking official in Libya at the time, correct,” Gowdy questioned.

“Yes, sir,” Hicks said.

“And she did not bother to have a conversation with you before she went on national television,” Gowdy asked.

“No, sir,” Hicks said.

"So, Ambassador Rice directly contradicts the evidence on the ground in Libya," Gowdy replied. "She directly contradicts the president of Libya, she directly contradicts the last statement uttered by Ambassador Stevens."

If only there was some sort of agency responsible for collating and disseminating intelligence information that could have assembled a set of talking points for her to work from so she didn't have to talk to each individual intelligence source in person.
