I would be glad to rent a room at TAM 2013 with one or more willing roomies. I don't drink, smoke, or party excessively, but I realize that Vegas is a 24/7 locale, and that TAMs tend to come pretty close to that, too. I haven't missed one of these yet, and I lectured at the 2009 TAM, so I've been around the block a few times. If you'd like to go around the block with me this time, let me know. I'd be fine with one, two, or even three roommates. Get back to me via this thread, and I'll post any updates if/when they become available. I am male, 55 years old, and a retired attorney who now does police work, sports announcing, and is (still) working on securing a publisher for a forthcoming novel.

ShadowSot and Wowbagger, I would be glad to make your acquaintance and room with you at TAM 2013. I'll message you and see if we can make a deal. Happy to go thirds on the room with you and arrange sleeping any way you please. I can even make do on the floor if you prefer a bed to yourself/yourselves. We can make this work!

As long as I don't have to sleep in the same bed as another male, I am fine.
 
At ease, everyone.

Everybody's got their own way of doing things. I would be happy to split the room 3 ways and sleep on the floor if both roomies want their own beds. I would be happy to split the room 4 ways if 2 people want to share a bed and the other wants his own bed, and that puts me on the floor. I'm more interested in finding a way to make this work and to save some money on lodging, than in whether I get a bed, the floor, or the bathtub. Whatever works for everybody else is AOK with me. I'd be glad to rent the room in my own name, as I am getting to TAM a day early to offer my services as a volunteer, so I should be there, with room keys ready, and prepared to welcome roommates as soon as they arrive.
 
I'm all for some hot dude-on-dude action, but this thread is getting a bit creepy.

I don't think I have ever wanted to be able to "like" a post as much as I want to this one.
 
Room reserved! -- ready for roomies!

Wow, I never dreamed that a post looking for roommates would attract so many folks with nothing to do except comment upon it. Either the national economy is booming, or we're so far down in the dumps that we have zilch else to occupy our time. But long story short, I have a great two-queen-bed mid-level room reserved. The whole thing is $240, or $80 per night, including all fees and taxes. I would like to procure 3 roomies, and that would make the cost $60 apiece, or $20 per night per person. I don't think you're going to be able to do better, and this is a room on the good side that overlooks the pool and the mountains, and not the parking lot, etc. So get in touch if you want to save bucks, and we can create an economical play to stay and hang out during TAM 2013.
