Biblical Flood? Fish, squid, and shrimp fossils in the mountains of Lebanon and Peru

Why are you reticent about demonstrating how you, personally, think that the age of the fossils in Peru, or the presence of the fossils atop the Himalayas, or the evidence of the time that has passed since the breakup of Pangea, can be reconciled with either of the inherently contradictory creation myths in Genesis

I'm just putting facts out there. Some support a local flood and some support a global flood. People can come to their own conclusions and they should also do their own research because I don't have the time to answer every question.

Strawman because I responded to a non-global flood question.

Not a straw man. YOU drew the parallels between Noah's flood and the Mississippi flooding. You now get to address where the comparison breaks down. Running and hiding from the fact that you screwed up doesn't make me calling out your errors a fallacy.

If the flood was local/regional, it is irrelevant outside that locality/region. If you want to use it to explain Peruvian paleontology and stratigraphy, you cannot compare it with local or regional flooding, at least not without some serious math to back up the comparison. It's either-or.

Hm....I have a spare rock or fifty lying around....And some spare wood.....How hard is it to make a display like that? :D

Are you claiming omniscience?

And why do you consider your conclusions to be more valid than the conclusions of those who have actually done the research? Remember, you're still denying the age of the Peruvian rocks and fossils here--you're still saying that Genesis is superior to actual geologic and paleontological analysis.

If two groups have a different view on something, that something is not a fact. And opinions are not facts either.

I must have missed the support for a global flood. Oh, and marine fossils on mountain tops is no evidence for a global flood, is it. I suppose it could be if you had forgotten everything you had ever learnt about high school geology and were too lazy and or invested in your American evangelical worldview to find out what we know about such deposits, how they got there and how we know this.

We know uplift of former sea floors have occurred. We have what are very clearly former coastlines at elevation. We can see how former marine sediments were laid down over time and we understand the mechanisms involved in their uplift.

And again, because I think it is so easy to understand without any special knowledge, a global flood where the sum total of animal creatures disembarked in eastern Anatolia makes some very definite predictions about what we should see in present day distributions of animal species. We look at Australia's fauna and we can confidently say the idea of a global flood is falsified. And all attempts by creationists to save the global flood with ad hoc hypotheses result in absurdity.

...And I have, politely, tried to engage you, with your opinion as a starting point.

Given the amount of time you have to continually misrepresent what you pretend is Ehrman's opinion about "Jesus", you have plenty of time...what you have not is inclination.

I have never seen a piece of practical, empirical evidence, attested to and verified by actual scientists, that supports a global fludde.

What is your opinion about the significance of very old fossils in Peru in Re: a historically recent flood in Mesopotamia?

What color are your herrings?

Some support a local flood and some support a global flood.
Well, if it is a local flood, then the Noah story is just a comical farce about a drunken sot who ends up having sex with his daughters.

The bible talks of a worldwide flood. Could marine fossils found 700 meters above sea level be evidence of that?

What?

What?

The word "flood" (let alone Noah's flood) does not appear in the articles you linked in the OP. No one anywhere is musing as to whether these fossils have anything to do with biblical flood stories. Except DOC. It's only your opinion. Please correct me if I'm wrong and tell me in who else's opinion do those things have anything to do with each other?

ETA - Just to be clear. If it's not DOC's opinion, whose is it?

Please correct me if I'm wrong and tell me in who else's opinion do those things have anything to do with each other?
