DOC, it rained forty days and forty nights (awesome overtime for the rain angels) and then it took 150 days for the waters to recede according to your book. Have you not read it?
You're talking to a person who has so far refused to acknowledge the existence of the modern city of Tyre for no other reason than that to do so would falsify an ancient prophecy.
U r joking, right?
'cos I was about to write something about how relative and absolute dating are made and the hows n' whys you don't need to actually perform isotope assays to find out the age of a given rock... If u r not jokin', then it would be a waste of my time...
Mighty One:
Might you provide (for us relative newcomers) a link to the post where DOC claimed Tyre isn't there? TYVM!
It's about a prophecy in Ezekiel that Nebuchadnezzar would destroy Tyre. See the Incredible odds of fulfilled bible prophecy thread. Here is one post of DOC, and another, where he defends the failed prophecy. But you really should read the whole thread for a good laugh.

Volcanoes that erupt with enough violence to fling water, fossils, and who knows what else for miles, and yet leave no other physical evidence of their existence? ...
DOC, you may want to crack a basic geology text one of these days...
And then claim to have skimmed 30% of it, whilst at the same time misquoting the dust jacket blurb, repeatedly making reference to the same half-dozen pages that just coincidentally happen to be available in online reviews and asserting that the author, former skeptic Sir ___________ , is an atheist favourite and therefore cannot possibly be wrong when he says that goddidit.
Some do, some don't.Yes, Moses is considered as the author of Genesis, according to Jewish 'tradition', infact he's traditionaly considered as the author of the Torah, which is the first five books of the Hebrew Bible, made up of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.... but, ignoring the fact that Biblical scholars date Genesis' authorship to over 500 years after the Bible...
It doesn't on the copies, which seems to happen a lot on ancient writings. That's why other evidence is looked for which I presented in a previous post.I believe that I actualy asked you for the "quote" in the Book of Genesis itself that names it's author. Now, no more avoiding the actual question that I asked, who does the Book of Genesis itself quote as it's author?
Some do, some don't.
Your intimation that Pangea was one continent as recently as 6K years ago seems to indicate otherwise.
Suppose you lay out a chronology:
In your opinion, when did 'god' create the world?
In your opinion, when was Pangea last a single continent?
In your opinion, when did the "global flood" happen?
In your opinion, when did the orogeny of the Himalayas happen?
Please to put those 4 events in the order you want to be able to claim that they happened, with the dates you want to wish for them.
This thread is not about my opinions....Suppose you lay out a chronology:

Yeah, but we still don't know who the "actual person" was who estimated the fossils to be 95 million years old. There must be a name, but we don't have one. And it's already been mentioned about the problems with carbon dating marine life and very old material.

opening post by DOC said:Biblical Flood? Fish, squid, and shrimp fossils in the mountains of Lebanon and Peru
The bible talks of a worldwide flood. Could marine fossils found 700 meters above sea level be evidence of that?
I'm almost certain this is nothing more than a desperate ploy on DOC's part that he thinks will allow him to avoid stating his position next time he's asked by claiming to have already answered the question.
I'm equally certain that it won't work.
Judging by your source, the ones who do (ascribe the Torah to Moses) say things like
The ones who don't are less likely to be as barking mad as the contributors to Answers in Genesis. Haven't we already discussed how these "answers" are different in Chapter 1 and Chapter 2?Long-age geology, big bang cosmology, secular archaeology, liberal theology, and philosophical attacks on miracles in the Bible have deceived many people

Still no evidence either. He seems to do that quite bit, at least from what I can tell of his other threads.![]()
I'll get to this as time permits, there is an explanation.
