Biblical Flood? Fish, squid, and shrimp fossils in the mountains of Lebanon and Peru

What about these fossils found in the Mountains of Lebanon 2500-3000 feet above sea level in two villages?

They predate the alleged flood by at least 65 million years, that's what about them.

I saw a Travel show about Lebanon that said 20% of world's fish fossils are in Lebanon.

I saw an episode of Red Dwarf that showed a Tyrannosaurus Rex eating a cow vindaloo.

The show was Globe Trekker. It was their episode on Beirut and Lebanon.
It had a woman host. She went to the fossil area and a worker there actually found a fish fossil right on camera when he carefully broke open an approx. 10 inch by 10 inch solid rock.

Globe Trekker, huh?

Need to look that up in Google Scholar.

Or maybe it'll replay on the History Channel.

And people say you don't have proper sources for your ridiculous claims.

That clinches the argument for you, does it?

Meh.

David Attenborough can do that and find living things.

You will notice that the fossils shown in the below link from the mountains of Lebanon look to be in very good shape with the marine life looking fully formed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paleontological_sites_of_Lebanon

The link above also says fully formed octopus (which are quite rare in fossil form) were also found:

"An octopus's corpse cannot usually survive long enough to become fossilized, which is why the discovery of well-preserved octopuses in Lebanon in 2009 was remarkable"

The below excerpts from this link titled: World Wide Evidence
Of The Genesis Flood

http://www.layevangelism.com/advtxbk/sections/sect-10/sec10-5.htm

talk about evidence for a flood and give a possible explanation for the above rarity:

"Thousands and millions of fish fossils which retain all the body parts indicating very rapid burial. Under normal conditions, fish do not fossilize. Dead fish are torn apart by scavengers and disintegrated by bacteria. There are the existence of fossils with soft tissue like jellyfish and sponges. There are the preservation of animal tracts, fish odors..."

"Fossilization requires rapid burial. Yet such burial is exceedingly rare today, and fossilization is almost non-existent in modern times. The existence of massive numbers of fossils worldwide is clear evidence of quick, deep, mass burial. A global flood catastrophe would offer conditions most ideal to the location of great numbers of fossils. The fossils give evidence that the animals were killed suddenly."

So it looks like the marine life from the first link above was quickly buried by some kind of volcanic activity or something else.

The bible talks of the 40 day rain, but it also uses this wording about the time of the flood:

"the breaking up of the fountains of the great deep"

This sounds like it could be underwater volcanoes.

What about local catastrophes, occurring at different times in different places, such as we see from time to time at present? Would these not explain such concentrations of fossils in particular areas?

These fossils were tens of millions of years old at the time of the alleged flood.

Why do you keep banging on about them?

The link below

<snip>

Is, like everything else you've posted in this thread, completely irrelevant to the discussion at hand.

We find lots of fossils in volcanic rocks, do we DOC?

Except that it sounds like nothing of the sort.

Even less so when you look at the whole passage rather than your cherry-picked sentence fragment.

Why are you avoiding this post, DOC?

Your intimation that Pangea was one continent as recently as 6K years ago seems to indicate otherwise.

Suppose you lay out a chronology:

In your opinion, when did 'god' create the world?

In your opinion, when was Pangea last a single continent?

In your opinion, when did the "global flood" happen?

In your opinion, when did the orogeny of the Himalayas happen?

Please to put those 4 events in the order you want to be able to claim that they happened, with the dates you want to wish for them.

These fossils were tens of millions of years old at the time of the alleged flood.
Were the fossils estimated to be that old or was the material surrounding them estimated to be that old? And who was the person who did the estimating?

Do you know anything about fossils at all?

Anything?

Do the terms 'Jurassic' and 'Cretaceous' mean anything to you?

We find lots of fossils in volcanic rocks, do we DOC?

They are found in rocks formed of volcanic ash layers, which are also conveniently amenable to radiometric dating. I am sure our much valued resident paleontologist will be along shortly to answer all Doc's questions about fossils.

Pompei is a classic example of preservation via ash entombment. If they'd been undisturbed long enough they might have wound up in some museum in the far distant future.

You are answering questions with questions.

Well, your questions are attempts at casting doubt, aren't they. If they were sincere you would have already read up on them. In case you are not aware, the electronic device before you has the ability to access the sum total of human knowledge, delivering texts on any subject on demand.

Still, the great thing about this place is that we have both experts and people prepared to put in the research effort for you. I am sure you will receive answers.

The very next sentence from your link (my emphasis):
Dirk Fuchs of the Freie University Berlin said about these 95-million-year-old fossil octopuses found in Lebanon:

"This provides important evolutionary information. The more primitive relatives of octopuses had fleshy fins along their bodies. The new fossils are so well preserved that they show, like living octopus, that they didn't have these structures."

How long ago was the flood, DOC?

Were the fossils estimated to be that old or was the material surrounding them estimated to be that old?

Just try to think about this a little.

If the rock surrounding them is that old, then what does this imply about the fossils encapsulated in the rock?

So, the fossils in mountains are evidence of a global flood. Because the flood could have been 100 of millions of years ago, Except that the bible may have been talking merely about a local flood, in which case only sealife fossils found near Israel is evidence of a local flood. And the fossils found elsewhere are evidence of?
And dating of these fossils are questionable now because they would make them millions and millions of years old.

We need this smiley, don't we?
