Biblical Flood? Fish, squid, and shrimp fossils in the mountains of Lebanon and Peru

Problem is, Chapter 1 of Genesis doesn't "correlate" with Chapter 2. Since the work of an 18th century scholar, it has been accepted by rational commentators that they were written at different times by different people.

Rather surprisingly, DOCology does not include the DOCumentary Hypothesis. ;)

What about scaling that one to avatar size? :D

DOC, let’s assume some people had committed evil things (using their god given free will that came without a set of instructions) that required punishment, and let’s assume the ONNNLY punishment open to this all powerful being is mass slaughter through drowning. Please explain to me what heinous crime could the thousands of unborn babies commit that your god felt it necessary to kill them in their mother’s womb? What could they possibly have done to deserve this?

Help me understand – because at the moment, I’m going with the opinion that your magic monster is a self indulgent amoral psychopath with no more right to reverence than a particularly thread bear door mat.

Looking forward to being ignored.

I imagine the Chinese were greatly surprised by the global flood. I mean, they were being slaughter to a man by a God they had never heard of. But, strangely, their records go right past it without even noticing. I wonder how that could be?

So, a perfect designer has such poor planning that he has to hit the reset button just after start-up? And we're supposed to buy that because...?
Reboot no. 1: After the Fall of Man. God couldn't foresee that leaving a major temptation alone with two naked teenagers in a theme park was not going to go the way he figured.

Reboot no. 2: The Great Flood. Still hasn't got it right.

Reboot no. 3: Son sent on suicide mission to Earth. 2,000+ years later it still hasn't taken hold.

Reboot no. 4: Constantly being predicted.

The Great Wall is a dyke ?

And what about all the puppies and kittens and fluffy bunnies and ponies and koalas and pandas? What did they do? They don't have free will; they are not capable of evil. What did they do to deserve annihilation? Sure, God preserved a pair (or seven pairs) of each animal (according to your fairy tale), but what about all the others? No soul, no eternal life, no reward. Just pain, fear, a horrible death, life snuffed out for no reason.
And baby ducks and baby chicks. And lady bugs, butterflies and jewel spiders.

And by the way, if you want an example of true love, look to Dog not God. Imagine an abused and grossly anthropomorphized dog: "That person was mean to me. He beat me and hurt me and confused me with unclear commands and frightened me with inexplicable punishments. This person is talking nicely to me and offering me a squeaky ball.... I will love him forever. And, you know what? I bet most people are like this nice one who has given me a nice home. When I meet strangers who seem to be suffering from doglessness, I will greet them and wag my tail and show them my squeaky ball."

That's true love, in the adoring eyes of a soulless, free-will-lacking dog.
I beg your pardon, my dogs all gots more soul than James Brown and Marvin Gaye put together.

...and I bet doc is anti-choice too.

My mouse pointer won't go near that link.
If it makes you feel better, I didn't actually go to the page, just copied the link from Google.

Just as well.

Can you see how the distribution of animal species, particularly evident in the marsupials of Australia, contradicts the idea that all living creatures disembarked from the Ark in eastern Anatolia some 4,000 years ago?
Then you don't believe the world was one continent at one time and broke up into several continents as many scientists believe.

From the article: Pangea

"The idea of a single continent breaking up into the ones we have today was first proposed in 1859 by creationist Antonio Snider-Pellegrini, partly on the basis of the description in Genesis 1:9-10 .[1] However, the idea was not accepted by others at the time. Even after Wegener resurrected the idea, it took another half century before it came to be widely accepted.

And there is no rule that God couldn't have created new species after the flood.

Except that gods are make-believe.

In which Jesus says in Matthew 5:

Quote:
17 Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

He also said Moses allowed divorce because of the hardness of their hearts. This implies things had changed and people could handle his new laws whereas they didn't have the ability before. Even Christ told the apostles there are some things you can't bear at this time.

In the verse Christ was talking about fulfillment and accomplishing... Also what exactly he means by the "The Law" is not exactly clear. Also the quote you gave is not in context. When he talks of commands he could have been talking about what he just commanded above the verse you mentioned. For example the command to shine your light before others.
