Explosion at the Boston Marathon.

I'm worried about him being so close to a potential gas tank....

I'm more worried about him possibly being strapped with explosives.

I'm hoping that's not the case, but they apparently had a lot more home made explosives than the two bombs at the marathon.

The father says he even spoke to one of the boys after the bombing and the kid said they weren't at the marathon at all since it wasn't their thing.

So yeah--sounds like dad wasn't up-to-date with them either.

All the people in the younger boy's life keep saying "this wasn't like him" and "I just don't see it" and all that stuff.

Historically speaking, the people who are closest to an individual are the most likely to completely overlook any warning signs. I wish the news media would quit harping on that and just report what's happening.

This. You see it all the time in gang killings. Tearful parents saying "he wasn't a gangbanger, he was a good boy" and his friends making gang signs at his funeral. Sad, but very true.

"He was such a good boy" says the mother of the 12-year old who was killed at 1:30 in the morning on a school night.

Exactly. Just because you don't see the warning signs doesn't mean they aren't there, for Pete's sake.

It's like I keep telling my soldiers at the yearly briefing I give them; don't ignore the warning signs!!!

God, I am getting images of James Cagney as Cody Barett in the final scenes of "White Heat"

"Top of the world ma, top of the world!'"

Scary thing is the suspect might just decide to do that, trying to take as many people with him as possible...

Agreed, though doubtful that he will. It seems they're pretty hell bent on killing. Unless the guy is naked and has his hands empty, he most likely will be shot.

Yes, I'm an atheist.
Yes, my gut reaction is 'Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.'

Off to see what A-J is reporting.
